Al Zarilla (b. 1919 to 1996) played in the majors from 1943-44 and 1946 to 1953 for the Browns, Red Sox and White Sox. He had 975 hits, 61 home runs and a .276 batting average. He was an All Star once in his career (1948) and finished as high as 18th in the AL MVP voting that year. He also batted above .320 twice in his career (.329 in 1948 and .325 in 1950).
