Billy Goodman (b. 1926 - d. 1984) played in the majors from 1947 to 1962 for the Red Sox, Orioles, White Sox and Colt .45s (Astros). He had 1,691 hits, 19 home runs and a lifetime .300 batting average. He batted over .300 five times in his career, culminating with an AL batting title in 1950 with a .354 average. He batted .290 or better in 11 of the 16 seasons in which he played. He finished 4th in the Rookie of the Year voting in 1948 and was second in the AL MVP voting in 1950 (Phil Rizzuto won that year). Goodman was also a 2-time All Star.
