TTM Success - Dick Van Dyke

This 2014 Topps Heritage Gateway Arch card was something I was able to find in my card box to send off to Dick Van Dyke for signature.  He was born near St. Louis, so that as good a reason as any.  It looks like he inscribed "Good Idea" on the card, but it most likely says God bless.  I can't quite tell.

Van Dyke (b. 1925) has been an entertainer for the better part of seven decades.  He is best known for movie roles in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and two of the Night at the Museum movies.  His television credits include the Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder.  He has won several awards and honors including a Golden Globe, Tony, Grammy, a Daytime Emmy, and four Primetime Emmys. He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012. He was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2013 and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021.

I mailed to Van Dyke on August 11 and got the card back on September 22, for a 42-day TAT.

Hmmmm. It does seem that Van Dyke frequently signs with "God bless", so that's probably what it is, but usually it looks different. Especially the end which doesn't look like how he usually makes the "s". See https://writtenwordautographs.com/shop/stage-and-screen/comedian-actor-dick-van-dyke-photo-signed/ and https://www.memorabilia.expert/shop/television-icon-dick-van-dyke-signed-inscribed-god-bless-8x10-photo-psadna-coa/

Maybe those other ones were just from when he was younger, I don't know. Anyway, very cool! He's certainly a legend.
