TTM Success - Mike Dyer

This 1995 Topps of Mike Dyer came back signed TTM in March after waiting for a while. However, the card turned out nicely. I still rather like the 1995 Topps set; that was definitely in my heyday of collecting as a teenager.

Dyer (b. 1966) played in the majors in 1989 and from 1994 to 1996 for the Twins, Pirates and Expos. He had a record of 14-18 with 154 strike outs and a 4.60 ERA.

I mailed to Dyer on October 4 and got the card back on March 9, for a 156-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Charles Nagy

Another TTM success came in from former Indians pitcher, Charles Nagy. This time around, he signed the above 1998 Topps, which looks great.

He also signed a 1991 Donruss The Rookies (above, left), which came out of a cheap set i picked up at the National last year. Above, middle, is a 1995 Topps Cyberstats and above, right is a 1996 Topps.

I mailed to Nagy on December 2 and got the cards back on December 16, for a 14-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Mark Farris

A random 1995 Topps was added to the autograph album when this card came back signed TTM by Mark Farris.  His marker looks to be fading a bit, but the card is out of my box and in the album now.

Farris (b. 1975) was a first round (11th overall) pick by the Pirates in the 1994 June Amateur Draft out of Angleton High School in Texas.  He played in the Pirates system in 1994 and from 1996 to 1998, reaching AA Carolina (back when the Mudcats were a Pirates affiliate).  

He had 305 hits, 14 home runs and a .244 batting average. 

I mailed to Farris on October 10 and got the card back on October 27 for a 17-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Allen Watson

My passes through boxes afforded me the opportunity to pull a few more cards to send TTM to Allen Watson.  I had gotten him TTM back in 2023.  The above 1993 Bowman rainbow foil parallel was. Nice card to send and it turned out nicely. 

I also sent this 1995 Topps Cyberstats.  These cards always look cool when signed. 

Finally, I sent a 1992 Stadium Club, 1995 Fleer Ultra, 1996 Stadium Club and a 1997 Score.

I mailed to Watson on January 29 and got the cards back on July 10 for a 162-day TAT.

TTM Success - Derek Parks

A random 1995 Topps was added to the autograph album when I got this one back signed TTM from Derek Parks.  I had the card put aside and finally sent it out recently.

Parks (b. 1968) played in the majors from 1992 to 1994 for the Twins.  He had 23 hits, 1 home run and a .200.batting average. 

I mailed to Parks on September 24 and got the card back on October 28, for a 34-day TAT. 

2024 National Free Signer - Carlos Baerga

The free signers from the National are finally winding down, with just a few more to go.  This one was with Carlos Baerga, who I had gotten TTM back in 2017.

I had this really nice 1998 Fleer Metal that was the main card I wanted to get signed. I had it signed with gold paint pen, and it looks awesome.

I had an extra voucher for Baerga and got his 1995 Topps done (bottom right).  They also called wild cards on him, and I knocked out a few others (top from left: 1992 Topps and 1993 Topps, and bottom left: 1994 Donruss).

Baerga was really nice.  I was glad to get a few extra cards out of my slider box, since I spent a lot of time finding his stuff.

TTM Success - Bret Barberie

Finally, my signed cards from a SCN private signing with Bret Barberie came in today.  He had apparently used black Sharpie when he was supposed to use blue, so the return of the cards got delayed.  The promoter replaced my cards that had gotten signed in black, which he didn't have to do.  The above 1995 Topps was one of the replacement cards, and I am happy to get it.  One of the reasons why I wanted to do the signing was because Barberie was in some great early Marlins uniforms. I also like the background of this card; the storm clouds brewing really create a great look on the card.

I had sent 4 cards; a 1993 Topps Team Stadium Club, 1995 Collectors Choice SE, 1993 Upper Deck Marlins checklist and a 1995 Topps Traded (which showed Barberie in an Orioles uniform).

I fully intend to fill out the 93 Upper Deck.  The delay in the cards caused me to miss a signing with Orestes Destrade.  Hopefully another with him pops up soon.  The promoter sent me back an extra 1995 Collectors Choice SE signed in blue since mine was in black.

Here's the 1995 Topps Traded, which I was lucky to have in the first place.  I got a card of Barberie in an Orioles uniform signed, and that's fine with me.

Barberie (b. 1967) played in the majors from 1991 to 1996 for the Expos, Marlins, Orioles and Cubs.  He had 388 hits, 16 home runs and a .271 batting average.  He finished 5th in the 1991 NL Rookie of the Year voting. 

I mailed to the signing on November 16 and got the cards back today (March 14), for a 119-day TAT.  I got a special on the signing; 4 cards for $50.

TTM Success - Rob Natal

Never give up hope. These cards had been sent out TTM to Rob Natal for over 6 years.  They finally came back the other day, and look great.  I was going for some old Marlins uniforms, and had picked out some good cards like the above 1993 Stadium Club. 

I also sent off a 1993 Donruss, 1993 Fleer and a 1995 Topps.

Natal (b. 1965) played in the majors from 1992 to 1997 for the Expos and Marlins.  He had 57 hits, 4 home runs and a .197 batting average.

I mailed to Natal on September 20, 2017, and got the cards back on December 9, 2023, for a 2,271-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tim Spehr

The autographs look a bit sad, but I still got a TTM success from Tim Spehr.  He needs a new marker. The above 1994 Topps didn't turn out too well. Still, it's signed and in my album. 

The above 1995 Topps turned out a little better.  

Spehr (b. 1966) played in the majors in 1991 and from 1993 to 1999 for the Royals, Expos, Braves and Mets.  He had 110 hits, 19 home runs and a .198 batting average.

I mailed to Spehr on October 18 and got the cards back on November 28, for a 41-day TAT.

50-50s From Cam S

With still a lot of catching up to do from this past season, I really need to get some 50/50s scanned and posted.  Here is one from. This past season from my friend, Cam S.

Cam took a bunch of guys for me this year that helped me clear out a lot of space in my boxes.  The above Lucius Fox drove me crazy.  Cam told me that he could take Fox, and I had been waiting a long time to get this card signed.  I couldn't find it for a while after Cam messaged me. Finally, just as I stopped looking, I found the card while I was looking for something else.  It is finally signed and in my album. 

Cam hooked me up with a bunch of Robert Hassell, III autos, as well as guys that I had sent to others in past 50/50 attempts. Domingo Leyba had been in the Orioles system, and I had a bunch of cards put aside somewhere. Those were a pain to find, but I got them out, as well.

I had sent my Cole Henry cards out to someone else for Spring Training, but he wasn't able to get him. I was told Henry was tough, but Cam was able to get several of Henry's cards signed for me.

I was really.glad to get these old Rouglad Odor Kinston Indians cards signed.  I had a bunch of them pulled for someone's 50/50 last season (2022), but they didn't get done.  Cam finished off Hunter Goodman for me.  I had also pulled Jon Nunnally for someone, but he got missed.  He's taken care of now.

Here are the other Hassell cards that Cam helped me with.  I was glad to get my numbered refractor done, finally.

I had hoped to see Trey Lipscomb this summer either with Fredericksburg or Wilmington, but he moved up right before I saw each team.  I got a couple extras back to give to my friend, Jordan, since he is a big Tennessee fan.

Finally, I wasn't able to get Aaron Shortridge with Greensboro, so it was nice to get these three cards signed. 

I appreciate the help, Cam! I plan to continue this 50/50 relationship next season.

TTM Success - Chris Howard

A couple cards from 1995 were returned signed from Chris Howard when I got this TTM success back last week.  The above 1995 Topps turned out well.

I also got a 1995 Donruss signed.  This was one of the first sets I hand collated when I got back into collecting.  I still have a few loose cards, and this one was able to get into the autograph album. 

Howard (b. 1965) played in the majors from 1993 to 1995 for the White Sox, Red Sox and Rangers.  He had a record of 2-0 with 25 strike outs and a 3.13 ERA.

I mailed to Howard on October 19 and got the cards back on October 30, for an 11-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Royce Clayton

There is a drawer in my card room that has a stack of cards that I just want to get signed.  It's more than just getting someone's autograph, it is that the card is either a cool parallel, or has nice photography on it, that I think would look cool in my album.  This 1995 Topps of Royce Clayton is one of those cards.  I like this action shot of former Padre, Tim Hyers sliding into Clayton.  It doesn't look like Hyers signs regularly, because if he did, I'd get him to sign this card, as well.  I saw that Clayon signed TTM through PastPros now, so I sent the card on its way, and got it back fairly quickly.

Clayton (b. 1970) played in the majors from 1991 to 2007 for the Giants, Cardinals, Rangers, White Sox, Brewers, Rockies, Diamondbacks, Nationals, Reds, Blue Jays and Red Sox.  He had 1,904 hits, 110 home runs and a .258 batting average.  He was an All Star in 1997.  He appeared on the 2013 Hall of Fame ballot, but received no votes.

I mailed to Clayton via PastPros on November 14 and got the card back on December 3, for a 19-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mark Sweeney

A few cards spread out over a couple decades were added to my autograph album with this TTM success from Mark Sweeney.  The above 1996 Fleer is a cool card; it has a rough matte finish that was done to aid in autographing.  The concept later only two years, but makes for something a little different.  The cards are a pain to search through if you're in a hurry, though.

I also got a 1995 Topps, 2007 Upper Deck First Edition and 2007 Upper deck signed.  These were good cards to get out of my boxes, since I've got so many cards from these years.

Sweeney (b. 1969) played in the majors from 1995 to 2008 for the Cardinals, Padres, Reds, Brewers, Rockies, Giants and Dodgers.  He had 464 hits, 42 home runs and a .254 batting average.

I mailed to Sweeney on October 13 and got the cards back on November 21, for a 39-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tim Scott

Some more mid-90s cards came back signed TTM; this time from former pitcher, Tim Scott.  This 1995 Topps turned out nicely.

I also got a 1992 Stadium Club and a 1993 Topps signed.

Scott (b. 1966) played in the majors from 1991 to 1997 for the Padres,  Expos, Giants and Rockies.  He had a record of 24-13, with 253 strike outs and a 4.13 ERA.

I mailed to Scott on October 26 and got the cards back on November 4, for a 9-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Tim Mauser

Another TTM success came in from a request that had been out for a while; Tim Mauser.  I was able to get a 1994 Topps (above) and a 1995 Topps (below) signed.  Both turned out great.  I have found that I like 1994 Topps, even though sorting through them is a pain.  This is, of course, due to the overgloss on them that causes the set to be bricked.  Otherwise, the individual cards look really nice when signed.

1995 Topps also looks nice when signed; the set had some good photos in it, and I have gotten a few of those signed in the past.

Mauser (b. 1966) played in the majors i 1991 and from 1993 to 1995 for the Phillies and Padres.  He had a record of 2-6 with 93 strike outs and a 4.37 ERA.

I mailed to Mauser on November 22, 2021, and got the cards back on September 12, 2022, for a 294-day TAT.

TTM Success - Roberto Petagine

TTMs have all but stopped lately, so hopefully, I can get caught up again on some posts.  Still, with over 980 out there, you would think that there would still be a bunch coming in.  This return from Roberto Petagine got a couple mid-90s cards out of my box, which was nice.

The above 1995 Donruss set was one of the first that I had ever assembled by hand.  Unfortunately, a lot of the cards were bricked by the over gloss, so the set is pretty much ruined.  I do enjoy the cards, for nostalgia's sake, so when I can get one signed and into my album, that is always good.

This 1995 Topps also turned out nicely.  For some reason, I thought this was a 1997, but it is a 95.  I'm usually spot on when it comes to identifying Topps cards quickly, but some of the mid-90s rookie combos mess me up.

Petagine (b. 1971) played in the majors from 1994 to 1998 and 2005 to 2006 for the Astros, Padres, Mets, Reds, Red Sox and Mariners.  He had 83 hits, 12 home runs and a .227 batting average.

I mailed to Petagine on January 12 and got the cards back on April 7, for an 85-day TAT.

TTM Success - Billy Ashley

Some mid-90s cards came back signed recently with this TTM success from Billy Ashley.  The above 1996 Fleer turned out great.  I liked the concept of the rougher finish on the cards, but they are a pain to leaf through; the tend to stick together and are a bit harder to separate quickly.

I also had Ashley sign a 1995 Topps and the foil counterpart, the 1995 Topps Cyberstats.  Both of these turned out nicely, as well.

Ashley (b. 1970) played in the majors from 1992 to 1998 for the Dodgers and Red Sox.  He had 144 hits, 28 home runs and a .233 batting average.

I mailed to Ashley on January 20 and got the cards back on February 11, for a 22-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tim Davis

Here are a couple cards from 1995 that I got back signed TTM recently.  I was always a big fan of 1995 Score, and I was happy to add a signed one to my collection with this TTM success from Tim Davis.

I also got this 1995 Topps signed that turned out nicely.  Davis's daughter also included a note saying she likes to see where all the letters to her dad come from across the country.

Davis (b. 1970) played in the majors from 1994 to 1997 for the Mariners.  He had a record of 6-5 with 91 strike outs and a 4.62 ERA.

I mailed to Davis on January 20 and got the cards back on February 7, for an 18-day TAT.

TTM Success - Jason Jacome

A couple 1995 Topps cards came out of the box when I got this TTM success from Jason Jacome.  I used the Cyberstats insert (above) and the base card (below) to fill out this TTM request.

Jacome (b. 1970) played in the majors from 1994 to 1998 for the Mets, Royals and Indians.  He had a record of 10-18 with 141 strike outs and a 5.34 ERA.

I mailed to Jacome on October 19 and got the cards back on November 24, for a 36-day TAT.

TTM Success - Rafael Bournigal

A couple mid-90s cards got added to my autograph album when I finally got around to mailing to Rafael Bournigal.  I had this 1995 Topps put aside for TTM for probably 4 years, and finally dropped it in the mail.  Thankfully, I had found another card to send along with it (the below 1993 Topps).

Bournigal (b. 1966) played in the majors from 1992 to 1994 and 1996 to 1999 for the Dodgers, A's and Mariners.  He had 234 hits, 4 home runs and a .251 batting average.

I mailed to Bournigal on October 18 and got the cards back on November 18, for a 31-day TAT.
