TTM Success - John Parrish

Another former Oriole signed some cards for me TTM. John Parrish signed three cards for me: a 2001 Upper Deck, 2001 Topps and a 2007 Upper Deck. The above 2001 Upper Deck is a really sharp card. I really like this set, and when the cards get signed, they usually turn out great.

Parrish (b. 1977) played in the majors in 2000, 2001, 2003 to 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2010 for the Orioles, Mariners, Blue Jays and Royals. He had a record of 14-14 with 225 strike outs and a 4.51 ERA.

I mailed to Parrish on November 26 and got the cards back on March 5, for a 99-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mike MacDougal

Here is a nice TTM success that came in that added a few mid-2000s cards to the autograph album.  I had seen that Mike MacDougal was signing, so it gave me the opportunity to get this 2006 Topps signed.

I also sent out this 2005 Topps (left) and a 2007 Upper Deck (right).  All of the cards turned out well.

MacDougal (b. 1977) played in the majors from 2001 to 2012 for the Royals, White Sox, Nationals, Cardinals and Dodgers.  He had a record of 18-23 with 325 strike outs and a 4.00 ERA.  He was an All Star in 2003.  

I mailed to MacDougal on April 22 and got the cards back on May 9 for a 17-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Mark Hendrickson

These three cards of Mark Hensrickson have been in my boxes for a while.  I finally sent them out, including the above Aberdeen Ironbirds team set card.  I was glad to get this one out of the old team set and into the autograph album. 

I also got these two Upper Deck cards, a 2007 and 2008.  Both of these sets are really good ones to get signed.  I especially like getting them out of the boxes, since I have so many.

Hendrickson (b. 1974) played in the majors from 2002 to 2011 for the Blue Jays, Devil Rays, Dodgers, Marlins and Orioles.  He had a record of 58-74 with 666 strike outs and a 5.03 ERA.

Hendrickson also played in the NBA from 1996 to 2000 for the 76ers, Kings, Nets and Cavaliers.

I mailed to Hendrickson on August 14 and got the cards back on August 31, for a 17-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Tyler Walker

Here is a random 2007 Upper Deck card that I found in my box and sent off TTM to Tyler Walker.  The card turned out nicely.  I, back on 2007, had intentions on completing that set, but gave it up after a while.  Upper Deck did have some nice sets back in the 2000s; they just crapped the bed with fake game used pieces and bad QA/QC.

Walker (b. 1976) played in the majors in 2002 and from 2004 to 2010 for the Mets, Giants, Devil Rays, Phillies and Nationals.  He had a record of 23-18 with 243 strike outs and a 4.23 ERA.

I mailed to Walker on August 12 and got the card back on August 26, for a 14-day TAT.

TTM Success - Aaron Miles

A TTM success came in this week from Aaron Miles that added the above 2007 Upper Deck and below 2012 Topps Jeritage to the autograph album. 

Both of the cards turned out nicely.  I found two other Miles cards on my desk today; I guess I had pulled them, then forgot to send them along with these two.  Oh well.  These were just fine.

Miles (b. 1976) played in the majors from 2003 to 2011 for the White Sox, Rockies, Cardinals, Cubs and Dodgers.  He had 793 hits, 19 home runs and a .281 batting average.  He won the World Series with the Cardinals in 2006.

I mailed to Miles on March 27 and got the cards back on May 6, for a 39-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Chris Snelling

These cards were out for signatures via TTM for almost 4 years, but Chris Snelling finally sent them back.  This 2007 Topps got damaged at the bottom, but the card will still be filed in my album. 

Snelling also had two different 2007 Upper Deck cards.  I busted a box of these back then, and ended up with a bunch of bulk cards.  It is always nice to get some of them signed.  This was a decent set.

Snelling (b. 1981) played in the majors in 2002 and from 2005 to 2008 for the Mariners, Nationals, A's and Phillies.  He had 55 hits, 7 home runs and a .244 batting average. 

I mailed to Snelling on November 18, 2020, and got the cards back on April 8, 2024, for a 1,237-day TAT.

TTM Success - Brad Hennessey

Here is a TTM success that u got back from Brad Hennessey.  The above 2007 Upper Deck turned out nicely.  I had gotten a box of this when it came out because I liked the design.  I still so, and am glad that I added one to the album. 

I also got a 2007 Topps Update and a 2008 Upper Deck signed. I had hoped that I had his 2008 Topps, but I was unable to find it in my boxes.  Still, I'm happy with what I got signed.

Hennessey (b. 1980) played in the majors from 2004 to 2008 for the Giants.  He had a record of 17-23 with 192 strike outs and a 4.69 ERA.

I mailed to Hennessey on December 6 and got the cards back on January 9, for a 34-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Bobby Jenks

This TTM success from Bobby Jenks took some time to come in, but I was glad when it finally did.  I got the above 2008 Topps signed, which turned out well.  Even though the signature doesn't match how he signed the card.  I imagine his signature changed over the years.

I also got a 2007 Topps Update, 2007 Upper Deck, 2006 Allen and Ginter, and a 2010 Allen and Ginter signed by Jenks.

Jenks (b. 1981) played in the majors from 2005 to 2011 for the White Sox and Red Sox.  He had a record of 16-20 with 351 strike outs and a 3.53 ERA.  He also had 173 career saves.  He was an All Star in 2006 and 2007 and won the World Series with the White Sox in 2005.

I mailed to Jenks on May 13, 2021, and got the cards back on February 13, 2023, for a 641-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mark Sweeney

A few cards spread out over a couple decades were added to my autograph album with this TTM success from Mark Sweeney.  The above 1996 Fleer is a cool card; it has a rough matte finish that was done to aid in autographing.  The concept later only two years, but makes for something a little different.  The cards are a pain to search through if you're in a hurry, though.

I also got a 1995 Topps, 2007 Upper Deck First Edition and 2007 Upper deck signed.  These were good cards to get out of my boxes, since I've got so many cards from these years.

Sweeney (b. 1969) played in the majors from 1995 to 2008 for the Cardinals, Padres, Reds, Brewers, Rockies, Giants and Dodgers.  He had 464 hits, 42 home runs and a .254 batting average.

I mailed to Sweeney on October 13 and got the cards back on November 21, for a 39-day TAT.

TTM Success - Chris Britton

Here is a TTM success from a former Oriole that took me a couple times to get right. I finally was able to get a couple cards back signed from Chris Britton. I think this was the third attempt at getting him and the wait finally paid off.

I was able to get Britton's signature on a 2006 Topps Rookie 52, a 2007 Upper Deck and a 2006 Upper Deck.

Britton (b. 1982) played in the majors from 2006 to 2008 for the Orioles and Yankees. He had a record of 0-3 with 58 strike outs and a 3.83 ERA.

I mailed to Britton on January 21 and got the cards back on April 25, for a 94-day TAT. Britton is not related to former Orioles closer, Zach Britton.

TTM Success - Choo Freeman

Here are a couple cards that I got out of my boxes with this TTM success from Choo Freeman.  The above card is a 2000 Bowman.  This is a nice-looking set, and I have a bunch of the cards.  I've gotten a few of them signed, and probably will go through that box soon and get more out to send off.

I also got a 2007 Upper Deck signed.  I liked this set when it came out and busted a couple boxes of it.  So, I have a ton of these, still, and have sent a couple of them off, as well.

Freeman (b. 1979) played in the majors from 2004 to 2006 for the Rockies.  He had 64 hits, 3 home runs and a .225 batting average.

I mailed to Freeman on December 15 and got the cards back on January 16, for a 32-day TAT.

TTM Success - Sean Casey

I mailed to him twice, but I was able to get Sean Casey's autograph on some nice cards.  I had mailed to him via MLB Network a couple years ago and never got anything back.  Finally, I saw his addrerss on SCN, so I tried again.

I got some really nice stuff signed, even though I would have rather had the 2006 Upper Deck Ovation that I had sent originally, but these were will really nice.

Casey (b. 1974) played in the majors from 1997 to 2008 for the Indians, Reds, Pirates, Tigers and Red Sox.  He had 1,531 hits, 130 home runs and a .302 batting average.  He was a three-time All Star (1999, 2001 and 2004).  He appeared in the 2006 World Series while with Detroit and batted .529 with 2 home runs over 5 games, even though the Tigers lost to the Cardinals.

I mailed to Casey on April 10 and got the cards back on April 23, for a 13-day TAT.

TTM Success - Rob Mackowiak

I saw a lot of posts on Instagram showing that Rob Mackowiak was signing TTM, so I jumped on board and send a few cards out, myself.  This is what actually prompted me to spend much of the MLB playoffs by going through my card boxes.  I went through a bunch of years of cards and pulled a ton of guys who are signing, so I should have enough subjects to send to for quite a long time.

I sent some pretty nice Mackowiak cards, like the 2007 Topps at the top of the page, or the above 2007 Upper Deck, 2006 Topps or 2008 Topps Update.

Mackowiak (b. 1976) played in the majors from 2001 to 2008 for the Pirates, White Sox, Padres and Nationals.  He had 603 hits, 64 home runs and a .259 batting average.

I mailed to Mackowiak on September 30 and got the cards back on October 11, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Joe Borowski

This TTM success from Joe Borowski was nice because it got me a few signed cards from the mid-2000s.  These are years where I don't have a lot of extra base, so some of these guys are hard to come by.  The above 2005 Topps turned out really well, I think.

These are actually two different 2008 Topps.  The top one is the shorter printed gold foil and the bottom is the more common silver foil.

Finally, here is a 2007 Upper Deck.  I remember busting a box of this way back when, and really enjoying this set.

Borowski (b. 1971) played in the majors from 1995 to 1998 and 2001 to 2008 for the Orioles, Braves, Yankees, Cubs, Devil Rays, Marlins and Indians.  He had a career record of 22-34 with 372 strike outs and a 4.18 ERA.  He led the league in saves in 2007 with 45.  He also had a 5.07 ERA that season, so he must have had quite a few clunkers as well.

I mailed to Borowski on September 10 and got the cards back on September 28, for an 18-day TAT.

TTM Success - Paul Bako

It's always nice getting a TTM success back that has been out for a while, and it is also nice getting one back from a former Oriole.  Both of those scenarios occurred when I received this success from Paul Bako.

I added some nice Topps cards to my album with this success, starting with the 2007 Topps Update at the top of the page showing Bako in an Orioles uniform.  I also added cards from 2001 and 2002 Topps.

This 2007 Upper Deck was also a nice card to get back.  I remember buying a box of this when it came out, as I liked the design.

Bako (b. 1972) played in the majors from 1998 to 2009 for the Tigers, Astros, Marlins, Braves, Brewers, Cubs, Dodgers, Royals, Orioles, Reds and Phillies.  He had 508 hits, 24 home runs and a .231 batting average.

I mailed to Bako on February 2 and got the cards back on December 1, for a 302-day TAT.

TTM Success - Chris Burke

Check out this awesome Astros uniform on this 2007 Upper Deck that I received signed from Chris Burke.  This card really turned out nicely, even with the fat red marker that Burke used to sign.  It does kind of match up with the orange of the uniform, though.  Not complaining at all!

I was able to get this Authentic Speed card back, as well, but the signature blends in a little too much with the background of the card.

I also added two Topps products in these 2007 and 2008 cards.  They both turned out really nice.

Burke (b. 1980) played in the majors from 2004 to 2009 for the Astros, Diamondbacks and Padres.  He had 303 hits, 23 home runs and a .239 batting average.

I mailed to Burke on August 7 and got the cards back on September 14 (my birthday) for a 38-day TAT.

Some Mail From Scott

I haven't gotten a whole lot of mail lately, but I've made up for it with some cool events.  I did, however, get some mail yesterday from my good buddy Scott.  He sent me an assortment of Orioles, some Jim Thomes, a couple Tim Lincecums for Chris and an Edgardo Alfonso for some reason.  Maybe he thought he was an Oriole.

I like this 2005 Donruss Greats Steve Stone.  I also have the Bob Feller from this set.  I think this set might warrant a deeper look at some point.  The cards look pretty good.

I also like this 2007 Upper Deck Brian Roberts.  I busted a box or two of this when it first came out, so I'm sure I had the card, but it still is an awesome one.  I can't wait til Roberts makes his comeback.  It should be sooner than later.
