With around 50 guys to go, my 1987 Topps signed set is getting tough to fill. Thankfully, a few tougher guys have shown up in some recent private signings and I've been able to continue to cross off some names on my checklist. One such player was Dave Leiper. I had missed him a few times and also missed on TTM, but I finally have him in my album after this private signing.
Leiper (b. 1962) played in the majors in 1984, 1986 to 1989 and 1994 to 1996 for the A's, Padres, Expos and Phillies. He had a record of 12-8 with 150 strike outs and a 3.98 ERA. I mailed to the signing on September 9 and got the card back on November 18, for a 70-day TAT.
