TTM Success - Tyler Henley

Here is another 2010 Bowman Chrome from the older prospects boxes. Again, the card scans black, but in person, looks pretty good. Tyler Henley signedthe card in black Sharpie, which can stillbe seen, regardless of the quality of the scan.

Henley (b. 1985) was an 8th round pick by the Cardinals in the 2007 June Amateur Draft out of Rice University. He played in the minors from 2007 to 2011 in the Cardinals system, reaching AAA. He had 295 hits, 26 home runs and a .280 batting average. 

I mailed to Henley on November 3 and got the card back on November 17, for a 14-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Tim Pahuta

This 2010 Bowman Chrome that I got signed TTM by Tim Pahuta scanned better than most 2010 Bowmans.  It's that high mirror shine on the cards that does it.  Still, getting them signed and out of the boxes is something I enjoy doing.

Pahuta (b. 1983) has only one attempt and success on SCN.  That would be me.  It is rare for me to find a guy with cards from 2010 on back who haven't yet been added to SCN. So, to be the first person on there to get this guy is pretty cool.

He was drafted by the Nationals in the 18th round of the 2005 June Amateur Draft out of Seton Hall.  He played in the Nationals organization in 2005 and 2006 and from 2008 to 2012, reaching AA. He had 545 hits, 83 home runs and a .248 batting average.

I mailed to Pahuta on October 25 and got the card back on November 10 for a 16-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Zach Gentile

Here is another bad scan of a 2010 Bowman Chrome.  Let's face it, the cards are pretty much mini mirrors. Believe me, though, this Zach Gentile that I got signed TTM looks nice in person.

Gentile (b. 1986) was a 49th round pick in the 2008 June Amateur Draft by the Red Sox out of Western Michigan.  He played in the minors from 2008 to 2012 in the Red Sox system, reaching AA. He had 303 hits, 1 home run and a .256 batting average. 

I mailed to Gentile on October 22 and got the card back on November 3, for a 12-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Neil Medchill

The older Bowman box helped out with a couple Neil Medchill cards that I sent off TTM.  They came back signed in ballpoint pen.  Above is a 2010 Bowman of Medchill.

As usual, the 2010 Bowman Chrome didn't scan for crap, but rest assured, the card looks nice.  I was pretty satisfied with the autos even though the cards were signed in pen.

Medchill (b. 1987) was an 11th round pick by the Yankees in the 2009 June Amateur Draft out of Oklahoma State.  He played in the Yankees system from 2009 to 2013, reaching AAA.  He had 310 hits, 53 home runs and a .234 batting average. 

I mailed to Medchill on December 4 and got the cards back on April 21 for a 138-day TAT.

TTM Success - Brad Correll

Wow. This card didn't scan well at all.  I guess I also didn't get all of the powder off of the card.  Still, in person, this 2010 Bowman Chrome that I got back signed TTM from Brad Correll looks pretty nice.  The cards shine up really well with the baby powder that I use.

Correll (b. 1981) was a 29th round pick in the 2002 June Amateur Draft by the Reds out of Limestone College (in Gaffney, SC).  I bet he remembers the giant peach.

He played in the minors from 2002 to 2009 in the Reds, Phillies, Pirates, Marlins, Red Sox and Royals systems.  By the time he got into independent ball, he had reached AA.  He had 720 hits, 89 home runs and a .278 batting average.

I mailed to Correll on January 8 and got the cards back on January 15 for a 7-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Cole GIllespie

Here are some nice cards that came back signed TTM from Cole Gillespie.  2010 Topps (above) is one of the worst sets around, as far as the cards lasting over time.  The ones that weren't already curling in the packs curl over time.  I have had to store mine racked together tightly in a box so they remain somewhat flat.  They were also notorious at not having many chrome parallels showing up in packs and boxes.  Weird.  Still, the cards look nice when signed, so I was glad I got this one back. 

I also got a 2010 Bowman Chrome refractor and a 2014 Topps Update back.  Both of these are nice.

Gillespie (b. 1984) played in the majors in 2010 and 2011 and from 2013 to 2016 for the Diamondbacks, Giants, Cubs, Mariners, Blue Jays and Marlins.  He had 110 hits, 6 home runs and a .251 batting average. 

I mailed to Gillespie on January 18, 2022, and got the cards back on December 19, 2024, for a 1,066-day TAT.

TTM Success - Adam WIlk

This 2011 Bowman Adam Wilk was in my to-be-TTMed box for what felt like forever.  I finally pulled it to send out after I found the below 2010 Bowman and 2010 Bowman Chrome and pulled them. 

All of the cards look good, even though 2010 Bowman Chrome doesn't scam well.

Wilk (b. 1987) played in the majors in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017 for the Tigers, Angels, Mets and Twins.  He had a record of 0-5 with 27 strike outs and a 7.36 ERA.

I mailed to Wilk on December 4 and got the cards back on December 16 for a 12-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Taylor Sinclair

Of all of the older Bowman cards that I have, I may be the least fond of 2010 Bowman Chrome.  Much like their 2010 Topps Chrome counterpart, these chrome cards tend to curl.  Also, with the high mirror shine of the cards, they don't scan all that well.  Still, they look nice in person when signed, and this signed one that I got TTM from Taylor Sinclair turned out nicely.

Sinclair (b. 1985) was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Diamondbacks in 2008 after finishing up playing college baseball at the University of Northern Iowa.  He played in the minors from 2008 to 2012 in the Diamondbacks system, reaching AAA.  He had a record of 21-28 with 311 strike outs and a 3.95 ERA.

I mailed to Sinclair on January 12, 2022, and got the card back on December 20, 2022, for a 342-day TAT.

A Couple 50-50s From Preston

Most of the 2022 50/50s have come back in, but a couple are still lingering out there.  One of the recent ones that came back was a small one I sent out to a kid named Preston in Charlotte.  He graphs the Knights and also goes to Winston-Salem and Kannapolis.  I finally met him in person this year at a Dash game (that rained out).  Preston took a couple cards for me and got them signed at Knights Stadium.  The above 2021 Topps green shimmer card of Luis Patino was the key to the deal, and Preston didn't disappoint.  The card turned out great (and I even forgot I sent it out).

Preston also got this 2010 Bowman Chrome signed for me by Seth Blair.  These were the only two cards Preston was able to get done, but he told me that he would try to get some done for me next season.  He's a good kid, and I'm not worried about quantity.  He was also worried about how long it took for him to get the package back, and I wasn't worried about that, either.  I think he felt bad, but I understand, we all get busy.  

Anyway, Preston is a good guy, and I hope we can do some more 50/50s in the future.  It seems like he may be growing out of getting cards signed at the moment, but I bet he will jump back in the game, once he realizes how much he misses it.  We'll see.

TTM Success - Jake Kahaulelio

Guys like Jake Kahaulelio make my job in finding addresses much easier than a guy names Joe Smith would.  I found these cards in my box and took a shot at finding an address, and it worked.

I got a 2010 Bowman Chrome and 2010 Bowman signed by Kahaulelio.  The cards turned out great, even though the Chrome is curved.

Kahaulelio (b. 1985) was a 20th round pick by the Reds in the 2007 June Amateur Draft out of Oral Roberts.  He played in the Reds system from 2008 to 2011, reaching AA (actually, Carolina Mudcats when they were a AA team).  He had 315 hits, 23 home runs and a .247 batting average.

I mailed to Kahaulelio on January 10 and got the cards back on January 25, for a 15-day TAT.

TTM Success - Jordan Pacheco

This TTM success from Jordan Pacheco was really nice, because I finally added a 2013 Bowman Chrome green refractor to my autograph album (among a bunch of other cards).  I sent six cards, and they all came back signed, which was great.  I don't expect a player to sign that many, but when they do, it's nice.

This blue parallel from 2013 Topps was another nice parallel that I got done.  It is a WalMart parallel and is not numbered.  Nor is the 2013 Bowman Chrome green refractor.

I also got a 2010 Bowman Chrome, 2010 Topps Pro Debut, 2011 Heritage Minors and a 2014 Topps signed.

Pacheco (b. 1986) played in the majors from 2011 to 2016 for the Rockies, Diamondbacks and Reds.  He had 293 hits, 10 home runs and a .272 batting average.  He finished 6th in the 2012 NL Rookie of the Year voting.

I mailed to Pacheco on March 26 and got the cards back on August 21, for a 148-day TAT.

TTM Success - Anthony Bass

There were more Anthony Bass cards in my boxes, I know it, but I couldn't find them.  So, these two were the only ones I sent out to him at Spring Training.  The came back looking nice, and I was glad to add another Spring Training TTM success to my album.  I normally do pretty bad with Spring Training (and this year was no exception), but I do get excited when I DO get some back.

Bass (b. 1987) played in the majors from 2011 to 2015 and 2015 to now for the Padres, Astros, Rangers, Cubs, Mariners, Blue Jays and Marlins.  He has a career record of 10-21 with 297 strike outs and a 4.32 ERA.

I mailed to Bass via Marlins Spring Training on February 11 and got the cards back on March 1, for an 18-day TAT.

TTM Success - Graham Stoneburner

Now, that's a name!  I saw Graham Stoneburner's card in my Bowman box and thought that I really should try to add him to my autograph album.  The card turned out a lot better than the scan shows.  The card is a bit curved, which kind of messed up the scan in the first place.

Stoneburner (b. 1987) was a 14th round pick by the Yankees in the 2009 June Amateur Draft out of Clemson University.  He pitched in the Yankees organization from 2009 to 2014, reaching AAA.  He had a record of 19-25 with 304 strike outs and a 3.92 ERA.

I mailed to Stoneburner on January 21 and got the card back on February 1, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Robbie Erlin

There were quite a few cards that I could choose from when I selected what I would send TTM to Robbie Erlin.  I went with the above 2011 Topps Pro Debut, without hesitation.  I have a bunch of these cards, and enjoy getting them signed.  I love the wood border design, as most folks know by now.

I also sent a 2010 Bowman Chrome, 2014 Topps and a 2019 Topps.  All of the cards look great.

Erlin (b. 1990) played in the majors from 2013 to 2016 and 2018 to 2020 for the Padres, Pirates and Braves.  He has a record of 13-20 with 274 strike outs and a 4.85 ERA.

I mailed to Erlin on December 2 and got the cards back on December 15, for a 13-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Matt Davidson

I don't like to double dip via TTM too often, but I saw these Matt Davidson cards in my box, and wanted to get them signed.  I had gotten Davidson last season (in August) on a couple cards.  I wanted to use these two Bowmans, and they turned out ok.

I mailed to Davidson on February 19, via Reds Spring Training and got the cards back on March 10, for a 20-day TAT.

Salem Red Sox 50/50s From Dylan

I only saw the Salem Red Sox once this season, and that was at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.  It was the July 4 game against the Mudcats, and I didn't do very well at all trying to graph the Red Sox.  So, I sent what I had left out to my good friend, Dylan, to complete.  His home team is the Red Sox, and he worked on my cards through the rest of the season.

The above 2010 Bowman gold refractor of Marc Brakeman was the one card that I wanted the most, and Dylan came through for me.  This card is numbered 50/50, which is kind of ironic (don't you think?).

Dylan hooked me up with a couple Joe Oliver cards.  Oliver was one of the few guys who would sign for me at the July 4 game.  Paul Abbott, on the other hand, would not.  Oh well.

I got these two Roniel Raudes cards back from Dylan.  I have gotten quite a few 2017 Bowman cards signed.  Not that I am working on the set or anything, but they are nice cards to get signed.

I had picked up a bunch of cards from my LCS for the Salem guys, and was disappointed that I couldn't get any of them done.  Dylan made it a little better for me, especially with these two Austin Rei cards.  Both of them turned out great.

Dylan kept one of my Josh Ockmey cards, which was fine by me.  I was happy to get this Pro Debut back from him, though.

Finally, Dylan included this 2015 Ginter Chris Davis relic for my PC.  I really appreciated that he thought well enough of me to add extras.
