There was a post a few days ago on Facebook in a group about the signed 1987 Topps set where a dealer that I've used for signings in the past was offering up some signed John Butcher 1987 Topps cards. Butcher hasn't signed in a long time, so I took advantage of the deal. I was able to cross his card off of my list, and am down to 48 cards to finish the set. I am hopeful that I can locate some of the tougher cards, but may have to call it done when I get down to Ricky Wright, Roy Lee Jackson and Dick Howser.
Butcher (b. 1957) played in the majors from 1980 to 1986 for the Rangers, Twins and Indians. He had a record of 36-49 with 363 strike outs and a 4.42 ERA.
