TTM Success - Rheal Cormier

It is kind of fun when a player covers a wide range of years and cards.  It also can be a pain, because that means I have to go through a ton of boxes to get a representative sampling of cards to choose from to send TTM.  I was able to get a bunch of cards out of my boxes of Rheal Cormier to send out (and I'm still finding some).  I needed more 1994 Topps in my autograph album, so this one was an easy choice to send out.

I also sent a 1993 and 2006 Topps (top row above) and 1994 and 1995 Leaf (bottom row, right to left).

Cormier (b. 1967) played in the majors from 1991 to 1997 and 1999 to 2007 for the Cardinals, Red Sox, Expos, Phillies and Reds.  He had a career record of 71-64 with 760 strike outs and a 4.03 ERA.

I mailed to Cormier on July 31 and got the cards back on August 10, for a 10-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mickey Tettleton

Another private signing came up on SCN; this one of former Oriole, Mickey Tettleton.  I had bought his 87 Topps already, so I went with a 1991 Crown Orioles, and the 1994 Leaf Medalists for the cards I would send.

I noticed after I paid for the signing and sent my cards that I missed sending the A's Leaders card from the 87 set.  I also missed it when I sent to Carney Lansford.  I really screwed up on that one.  I'll have to hope that those two do signings again, and maybe I can finish that card.

I was happy with this 94 medalists card though.  All I need now is to catch Chris Hoiles.  I hope he is at Fan Fest, soon.

Tettleton (b. 1960) played in the majors from 1984 to 1997 for the A's, Orioles, Tigers and Rangers.  He had 1,132 hits, 245 home runs and a .241 batting average.  He was an All Star in 1989 and 1994 and a Silver Slugger Award winner in 1989, 1991 and 1992.

I mailed to the signing on July 24 and got the cards back on August 30, for a 37-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $15/card.

TTM Success - Scott Ruffcorn

Here is a TTM success from another one of those players who hung around my "to be TTMed" box for a long time before I finally got around to mailing the cards.  I had four cards of Scott Ruffcorn, and sent them all, but he kept one of them.  The card he kept was a 1994 Upper Deck Predictor, which would have looked really nice.  Oh well.  This 1994 Classic Cream of the Crop looks really nice in person.  I used to have a ton of these, but for some reason they are all gone.  I believe this one came from one of those Target boxes of assorted cards.

These two cards also turned out nice.  The Gold Leaf Rookie looks a lot nicer in person.  Like the 1994 Classic, it didn't scan all that great.  Oh well, it'll look great in my album anyway.

Ruffcorn (b. 1969) played in the majors from 1993 to 1997 for the White Sox and Phillies.  He had a career record of 0-8 with 46 strike outs and an 8.57 ERA.  He was a first round pick (#25) 1991 June Amateur Draft by the White Sox.

I mailed to Ruffcorn on January 27 and got the cards back on February 16, for a 20-day TAT.

TTM Success - Matt Walbeck

I took yesterday off from posting TTM successes and other stuff to put the sole focus (as I think is right) on the Hall of Fame announcement.  Now, I can get back to trying to whittle my stacks down to something more manageable.  I can make some headway today by showing this TTM success from Matt Walbeck, which I got on quite a few cards.

This 1994 Gold Leaf Rookie looks a lot better in person than the above scan shows.

The success from Walbeck extended across a bunch of cards, like this 1994 Upper Deck.  It is a horizontal card showing some cool catcher's gear.  I pulled this card from a box of 1994 Upper Deck that I busted with Chris.  I'm glad to have this one come back looking so great.

Here is a really nice 1996 Fleer Metal and a 1994 Topps Future Star.  Both of these turned out great as well.

Finally, here are a couple of Topps base cards that look great.  I didn't have very many 2000 Topps; and the 1995 came from my building of that set.  I ended up with a bunch of extras from 1995, so I will be seeing more come in, in due time.

Walbeck (b. 1969) played in the majors from 1993 to 2003 for the Cubs, Twins, Tigers, Angels and Phillies.  He had 492 hits, 28 home runs and a .233 batting average.

I mailed to Walbeck on November 14 and got the cards back on December 23, for a 39-day TAT.
