TTM Success - Luis Salazar

These cards were out as a TTM request for quite some time before I finally got them back from Luis Salazar.  The 1981 Topps shown above turned out really well.  I love the bold colors on the card and am glad it came back signed.
He also signed a 1987 Topps, long after I finally had crossed him off of my list.

Salazar (b. 1956) played in the majors from 1980 to 1992 for the Padres, White Sox, Tigers and Cubs.  He had 1,070 hits, 94 home runs and a .261 batting average.

I mailed to Salazar on February 26, 2018, and got the cards back on August 12, 2022, for a 1,628-day TAT.

Gerard With Some More 87s For The Set

My good friend, Gerard, traded for some more 1987 Topps autographs to continue to help me along with my set.  He knocked off 4 names from my checklist.  He also included a fifth card, but I had just gotten a TTM return (Jeff Calhoun) of the same card.  So, he has given me permission to use that as trade bait for other 87s.
The Glenn Wilson card is kind of odd.  He had signed it in ink pen, then went back over that signature with a blue Sharpie.  I had just missed a private signing with Wilson, so I may have to wait  a bit if I want to replace that one at some point.

Thanks so much for the autos, Gerard!  These put me at 587 of 792 (74% of the set).  I've come a long way and still have a ways to go!

Lots of 87s Off The List Thanks To Nick

I helped a guy named Nick by getting some Wood Ducks cards signed for him, and in return, he sent me 10 signed 1987 Topps for my set.  One of the cards he sent was one I needed, but between the time it took me to get the cards scanned, that player sent back a TTM success.  Still, these were some tougher ones, and I was happy to knock them off of the list.
Adding these to the set puts me at 460 cards and at 58% completion.  That's not too bad, if you think about it.
A couple of these guys are players who I sent TTM to, and am waiting on a return.  So, if they do come back, I'll probably upgrade any cards that need it, then I will pay forward Nick's generosity and send some to some other collectors.

Thanks for the deal, Nick!  I love the cards, and am happy to cross them off of the list.
