Final 2024 50-50 Returns From Logan

My friend Logan in Wichita got ky signed cards back to me at the end of the season.  He definitely sent quality cards like the above 2023 Topps Pro Debut Tanner Schobel parallel.  Man that card looks great. 

Former Wood Duck AJ Alexy signed the Stadium Club Chrome; Link Hencs signed my Panini Select. 

Logan got a bunch of my Austin Beck cards signed before Beck retired.  It is a shame Beck has hung it up.  I'm glad I got a lot of these cards done and out of the prospects boxes.  The 2022 Pro Debut Diego Cartaya is nice, as well as the 2023 Topps Brendon Davis. Davis is a former Wood Duck, so it was nice getting one of his cards signed. 

These Yeiner Fernandez 2023 Bowmans are nice.  The Jose Leger is from a 2016 Columbia Fireflies team set that my brother Adam gave me.  There are also a couple Dalton Rushing and a few Kendall Williams.

Finally, here are: a 2020 Topps Pro Debut Kendall Williams, a 2019 Hickory team set Grant Wolfram, a Panini Select Aaron Zavala parallel and a 2022 Topps Heritage Minors Zavala showing him in a Wood Ducks uniform.

A Few Signed Cards From Leyton

Continuing to whittle down my stack of stuff I received recently brought me to these four cards that a friend on Instagram, Leyton, sent me in return for some help getting some cards signed for him.  He sent back some good stuff, like this 2018 Bowman Austin Beck.

He also sent a 2018 Bowman JoJo Romero, 2018 Bowman Chrome Will Craig and a 2018 Bowman Chrome Blayne Enlow.  All of the cards are really nice and have finally been moved to my autograph album after sitting on my desk for about 6 months.

Some California League 50/50s

I got a DM on Instagram earlier this season from a guy in California who watched me bust my 2019 Pro Debut boxes on my livestream.  He took a couple cards of a guy in that set, and got a 50/50 done for me.  He, then, offered to get me some cards signed by some of the guys in the California League (mostly), so I sent a bunch of cards his way.

He was only able to get a few of the cards done for me, but it was definitely quality over quantity.  He pushed the above Austin Beck shimmer refractor to the front of the line when I was able to cross JP Martinez off of his want list for his 2019 Pro Debut set.  The Beck turned out great, and I was super excited to get it back signed.

These 4 cards were the only other ones that he was able to get done for me.  I was disappointed, mainly because he had promised to get a Heliot Ramos done for me, but it didn't get signed, and didn't even make it back in the package.  My feelings aren't really hurt by that or anything, because stuff happens, but the thing I dislike the most is spending a ton of time searching for cards, then having to go and put it all back in the box.

Anyway, I'm glad I got what I got.  We'll see if I do another 50/50, or maybe if I do one, it might be on a much smaller scale.

Austin Beck Signed Baseball From Philip

I believe I have created a monster.  My brother Philip has always been a sports fan.  Typically, he sticks with football, but he has always liked baseball, too.  When I was little (Philip is a year older than I am), he was a big A's and Giants fan.  This was one of the reasons I became an Orioles fan, since, you know, you can't copy your older brothers.  He was a big fan of Will Clark, Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire.  Then, he got into football hardcore, and became a Miami Hurricanes fan.

Not too recently, Philip became a fan of the Yankees.  I think it was to rib me at the start, but then he got really hooked.  I have recently sent him cards of Gleyber Torres, since he is a really good young player.  Philip even bought my Gleyber auto off of me; which I have since gotten graded for him.

He also has spent more time looking at the MLB draft, and younger prospects.  He becamse a fan of Ronald Acuna and Juan Soto for that reason.

It turned out, he knew a relative of last year's A's first round pick, Austin Beck, since Beck was from Davidson County, NC.  Philip heard about a signing Beck was doing, and went this past February.  He was kind enough to pick up a ball for me and a card for Chris to get signed.  I have been wanting to post the ball, but have been so far behind on my posts, it has just sat here in it's box.  Since I have a case of ball cubes sitting here ready to be opened, I figured now would be a good time to show off the ball that my brother got done for me.

Beck (b. 1998) was drafted 6th overall by the A's in the 2017 June Amateur Draft.  He is a center fielder out of Lexington, NC.  In the two seasons he has played in the minors, he has reached Class A Full Season and has a total of 127 hits, 3 home runs and a .264 batting average.  OOkland's full season Class A team is the Beloit Snappers.
