2023 National Free Signer - Jody Davis

Jody Davis was the next free signer at the National.  I had gotten him TTM back in 2017 on a few cards, and Max got him on an 87 Topps for me.  I had the above 1989 Topps Big, which turned out nicely.
The above 1988 Fleer and 1989 Upper Deck also turned out great.

I didn't get a photo of Davis signing, as I was heading straight from his line to some of the paid signers, so I was in a hurry.

TTM Success - Rocky Childress

I added these three cards with this TTM success from Rocky Childress.  The above 1988 Fleer turned out really well.  I have a whole box of these somewhere, but I think it is buried under the guest bed.
I also got a 1988 Topps and a 1990 CMC AAA signed.  The 1990 CMC AAA came out of the attic box that Mom found a while back.  I've gotten several of these cards signed; they have really come in handy.

Childress (b. 1962) played in the majors from 1985 to 1988 for the Phillies and Astros.  He had a record of 2-3 with 65 strike outs and a 4.76 ERA.

I mailed to Childress on September 29 and got the cards back on October 13, for a 14-day TAT.

TTM Success - Al Pedrique

I have been spending my offseason from graphing by trying to go through my TTM box and sort it a lot better than it has been.  I also have been working to add some more subjects to my list, since I have sent to so many past players.  Still, there are guys in the box who have been there for a couple years, just waiting for their turn to get a letter and some cards from me.

I don't know how long I have had cards of Al Pedrique waiting for me to send out, but the ones I sent are pretty nice.  I really like the above 1987 Topps Glossy Rookies.  I don't think I have gotten any of these signed before, but I could have.
I also had his 1988 Fleer, 1989 Topps and a 2005 Topps that were returned signed.  He signed in black Sharpie, and the cards turned out really well.

Pedrique (b. 1960) played in the majors from 1987 to 1989 for the Mets, Pirates and Tigers.  He had 111 hits, 1 home run and a .247 batting average.

He also managed the Diamondbacks in 2004; to a record of 22-61 (.265%).

I mailed to Pedrique on July 8 and got the cards back on September 10, for a 64-day TAT.

2019 National Free Signer - Jack McDowell

I have gotten Jack McDowell TTM a few time, so when I saw he was signing at the National as one of the VIP signers, I scrambled to find some cards.  Luckily, I was able to find some, including the above 2013 Panini USA card that has been floating around in my box for what seems like forever (6 years actually).
I found these three cards in the same box that I found my Cory Snyders in, so I was able to move some old stuff out of some of the closet boxes.  That is always a plus for me.

I had help in getting these cards signed.  Michael went through the line while I was waiting for Jim Perry, and my friend, Vince, went back through with some of my Wild Cards.

2019 National Free VIP Signer - Cory Snyder

I had already gotten Cory Snyder TTM in the past, so when I saw that he was signing at the National, I struggled to find some cards.  Luckily, I found these two late-80s Fleer offerings.  The above 1988 Fleer turned out really well, I think.
His 1989 Fleer also looks really nice.  I think I prefer the 88, though.

I didn't have to wait very long in Snyder's line, and was able to cash in a wild card voucher to get him on the 89 Fleer.

TTM Success - Robbie Wine

Here are some fantastically 80s cards that I got back TTM from Robbie Wine.  From the designs of the cards to the crazy Astros jerseys (and the jacket on the above 1988 Fleer), these cards look really cool.
All three cards come from 1988, which he signed in black Sharpie.

Wine (b. 1962) played in the majors in 1986 and 1987 for the Astros.  He had 6 hits, no home runs and a .146 batting average.

I mailed to Wine on June 25 and got the cards back on July 5, for a 10-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Danny Darwin

Because I missed sending him a 1987 Topps the first time I sent TTM to Danny Darwin, I had to mail to him again.  I had a few other cards sitting around, so I included them in the TTM request.  I probably wouldn't put a 1991 Donruss in a TTM request to anyone, but I wanted to add one to the album here.  There isn't anything wrong with these cards, they just aren't usually the first choices I send along.  Really, I like the design, as it reminds me of when I first got into collecting.  It's very "Saved by the Bell" if you really look at it.
I was able to get a 1987 Topps done, as well as a checklist.  I also included a 1988 Fleer since the red, white and blue design is pretty sharp.

I mailed to Darwin on January 22 and got the cards back on March 17, for a 54-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ken Schrom

Here is a nice TTM success from Ken Schrom that came in a couple weeks ago.  The above 1988 Score turned out really nice.  This is an underrated set, and the cards really look great in my album.
Here are the other cards that Schrom signed for me.  One of which is a 1987 Topps for my set.  The 1986 Topps is actually a Topps Traded.

Schrom (b. 1954) played in the majors from 1980 and 1982 to 1987 for the Blue Jays, Twins and Indians.  He had a career record of 51-51 with 372 strike outs and a 4.81 ERA.

I mailed to Schrom on January 8 and got the cards back on January 27, for a 19-day TAT.

TTM Success - Charles Hudson

I caught myself up again on my TTMs before I left on another trip this weekend.  Of course, a couple had come in right before I left, but for all intents and purposes, I am again caught up.  This TTM success from Charles Hudson came in right before I had to leave for Charlotte for training this past week.  I scanned a bunch of stuff ahead of time, so I wouldn't fall behind (which turns out to be a great way to stay caught up).  I got a few nice Topps cards out of the success, with the above 1984 and 1987 cards.
One of the drawbacks to rushing to get stuff scanned and all is that you crop the cards a bit off and then they aren't in front of you to re-scan.  Oops.  See above.

Hudson (b. 1959) played in the majors from 1983 to 1989 for the Phillies, Yankees and Tigers.  He had a career record of 50-60 with 580 strike outs and a 4.14 ERA.

I mailed to Hudson on May 1 and got the cards back on May 26, for a 25-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ken Gerhart

Ken Gerhart signed four cards for me in this TTM success.  I had a former complete set of 1988 Fleer sitting around, so I went through it for TTMs and pulled out this Gerhart when I saw that he signed.  These are some really nice cards that look great when signed.  I hope to add some more in due time.
1988 Donruss also looks pretty nice when signed.  I have so many of them lying around.  They usually are passed over in favor of other cards, but this one made the cut this time around.
I did add a 1988 Topps to keep the Topps success coming.  I also included the 1989 O Pee Chee that Angus sent me for Christmas.

Gerhart (b. 1961) played in the majors from 1986 to 1988 for the Orioles.  He had 136 hits, 24 homw runs and a .221 batting average.  He made his MLB debut on September 14, 1986, so happy birthday to me!

I mailed to Gerhart on March 4 and got the cards back on March 25, for a 21-day TAT.
