TTM Success - Glen Condren

Here is another football card that I picked up at the National this year, then sent out for TTM.  This Glen Condren card turned out nicely. 

Condren (b. 1942) played professionally from 1965 to 1967 and 1969 to 1972 for the Giants and Falcons.  He was an 11th round pick in the 1964 draft by the Giants out of the University of Oklahoma.

I mailed to Condren on August 7 and got the card back on October 6 for a 60-day TAT.

TTM Success - Haven Moses

This card that I got back signed TTM from Haven Moses is a 1971 Topps football card that I picked up from the National. I sent the card out soon after I got back home and it came in not too long after that.

Moses (b. 1946) played professionally from 1968 to 1981 for the Bills and Broncos. He was a 2-time pro bowler (1969 and 1973).  He had 448 receptions, 8,091 yards and 56 touchdowns. 

I mailed to him on August 6 and got the card back on August 23 for a 17-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Ken Willard

Some of the cards that I picked up at the National and sent out TTM when I got back started to come in shortly afterward.  This 1971 Topps of Ken Willard was found in a dime box and sent out soon after I got home.  The card turned out great.

Willard (b. 1943) played professionally from 1965 to 1973 for the 49ers and Cardinals. He had 6,105 yards and 45 touchdowns.

I mailed to Willard on August 7 and got the card back on August 14 for a 7-day TAT. 

2023 National Free Signer - Bobby Douglass

The next free signer at this year's National was former Bears quarterback, Bobby Douglass.  He was pretty nice.  His line was slow because he signed every letter of his name (and even ran out of room on most cards).

I ended up with two of his vouchers and found a vendor who had some of Douglass's cards for sale.  I had to get them at $5/card, but it was worth it to not have to search boxes for them.  The top card is a 1971 Topps and the bottom one is a 1972 Topps.

Douglass (b. 1947) played professionally from 1969 to 1978 for the Bears, Chargers, Saints and Packers.  He had 36 touchdowns and 6,493 yards.

I didn't get a chance to talk to him much, as his line moved slowly, so by the time I got to him, I got my stuff signed and moved out of the way quickly out of respect to the folks behind me.

2022 National Free Signer - Mark Moseley

There were a few football players who were free signers at this year's National.  I had a card for one of them; the rest, I had to buy cards.  I ended up finding 4 of the same card for Mark Moseley, that covered the 4 vouchers I ended up with for him.  The cards I found were all his rookie card, 1971 Topps.  The cards turned out great, and I will send off the other 3 in some future care packages.

Moseley (b. 1948) played pro football from 1970 to 1986 with the Eagles, Oilers, Redskins and Browns.  He was the league MVP in 1982 when he made 95.2% of his field goals that season.  He also won the Super Bowl that season, with the Redskins.

TTM Success - Roman Gabriel

Another of the vintage football cards that my friend, Max, gave me came back signed via TTM.  This 1971 Topps Roman Gabriel turned out really well.

Gabriel (b. 1940) was a first round (first over all) draft pick by the Raiders in the 1962 AFL Draft and a first round (second over all) pick by the Rams in the 1962 NFL Draft out of NC State University.  He played professionally from 1962 to 1977 for the Rams and Eagles.  He had an over all QB record of 86-64-7 with 201 touchdowns and 29,444 yards.  He was the NFL MVP in 1969 and was four-time Pro Bowler (1967-1969 and 1973.  He was elected t the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989 and his number 18 jersey was retired by NC State.

I mailed to Gabriel on January 24 and got the card back on February 9, for a 16-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $5.00.

TTM Success - Leroy Kelly

It has been a while since I have added a football player to my autograph album.  I like to add those when I find some cool vintage cards, and that's what happened with Leroy Kelly.  I had picked up a couple 5,000-count boxes from my LCS for real cheap, and there was a small assortment of vintage baseball and football in there.  I saw that there were a few Kelly cards, and that he signed TTM for a fee, so I got the money together, and sent the cards off.

Kelly has a great signature, and inscribed each card with "19 H.O.F. 94", which looks really cool.  I especially like the red border on the above 1971 Topps.  I have always said that red cards tend to look great when scanned.

I also had a 1970 and 1972 card of Kelly, so I sent those along, as well.  I figured I would go ahead and pay the fee to get them signed, otherwise, they'd just sit in my boxes, because I do nothing with football stuff.

Kelly (b. 1942) played professionally from 1964 tom1973 for the Cleveland Browns.  He played college ball at Morgan State.  In his career, he had 7,274 rushing yards with 74 touchdowns.  He led the league in rushing yards in 1967 and 1968; and rushing touchdowns in 1966, 1967 and 1968.  He also had 2,281 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

Kelly won the NFL Championship in 1964; he was a 6-time Pro Bowler and a 3-time All Pro.  As his inscriptions say, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.

I mailed to Kelly on August 12 and got the cards back on August 24, for a 12-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $10.00/card.

TTM Success - Don Maynard

I was looking through the display cases at my LCS recently, and saw a few vintage football cards that would look cool if I were able to get them signed.  So, I checked to see if the players signed, and a few did.  I picked a few up and sent them off.  The first one to come back was this 1971 Topps Don Maynard.  The card turned out really well, and I was glad to get it into my album.

Maynard (b. 1935) played from 1958 to 1973 for the Giants, Titans (New York), Jets and Cardinals (St. Louis).  He had 11,834 receiving yards and 88 touchdowns.  He won the Super Bowl in 1968 and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.

I mailed to Maynard on January 14 and got the card back on January 25 for an 11-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $10.00.
