Another TTM Success From Phil Regan

After a long wait, these cards came in from former Orioles manager, Phil Regan. It was funny, though, that two other requests to him that I sent after these cards came back quickly, with no problem. I guess this TTM request fell between the seats.

I had these two Topps cards that I sent along, a 1965 and a 1966 Topps. He also signed a Pacific Orioles logo card (top) and a blank 1991 Crown Orioles card.

I was really surprised to get these back, as I had thought that they jad been lost a long time ago. 

I mailed to Regan via the Mets on June 21, 2019, and got the cards back on February 17, 2026, for a 2,433-day TAT, easily the longest wait I have had.

TTM Success - Claude Raymond

This 1965 Topps of Claude Raymond came back signed recently. I had held into the card for a while, until I restocked on international stamps to send to Canada. Raymond signed the card at the very bottom, which was kind of weird. Still, the card is signed and in the autograph album. 

Raymond (b. 1937) played in the majors in 1959 and from 1961 to 1971 for the White Sox, Braves (Milwaukee and Atlanta), Colt .45s/Astros and Expos. He had a record of 46-53 with 497 strike outs and a 3.66 ERA. He was an All Star in 1966. I mailed to Raymond on December 5 and got the card back on January 22, for a 48-day TAT. I paid a fee of $7.00.

TTM Success - Dick Estelle

My post about Masanori Murakami was missing one card, my 1965 Topps Giants Rookie Stars card.  I got it back from Murakami and sent it off to Dick Estelle.  The card.came back signed quickly and looks awesome.

Estelle (b. 1942) played in the majors from 1964 to 1965 for the Giants.  He had a record of 1-2 with 29 strike outs and a 3.23 ERA.

I mailed to Estelle on April 16 and got the card back on April 25 for a 9-day TAT. 

Facebook Pickup - Signed 1965 Topps Luis Aparicio

Recently, I saw a post on one of the Facebook autograph groups I'm a part of that someone was selling extra Luis Aparicio autos from a past signing.  I had only gotten him on something more recent, so i decided to buy the 1965 Topps he had available. 

Since the card shows Aparicio as an Oriole, I was glad to pick this one up and add it to the album. The guy has some more cards available, so I may pick another up soon.

Aparico, at the age of 90, is now the oldest living Hall of Famer.

Another TTM Success From Ron Brand

This 1965 Topps of Ron Brand was picked up at a recent card show so that I could add another 1965 Topps to the autograph album. I had gotten Brand before. The card turned out great and Brand has a really nice signature. 

I mailed to Brand on January 2 and got the card back on January 17, for a 15-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Sterling Slaughter

Ryan sent me this nice 1965 Topps of Sterling Slaughter to try to get it signed TTM.  It came back and looks great.  I love 1965 Topps, so it is a great card to add to the album. 

Slaughter (b. 1941) played in the majors in 1964 for the Cubs.  He had a record of 2-4 with 32 strike outs and a 5.75 ERA.

I mailed to Slaughtet on December 1 and got the card back on December 22, for a 21-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Wayne Schurr

This 1965 Topps of Wayne Schurr that I got signed TTM turned out nicely.  Even though he signed the card in black ballpoint pen, it looks good.

Schurr (b. 1937) played in the majors in 1963 for the Cubs.  He had a 0-0 record with 29 strike outs and a 3.72 ERA.

I mailed to Schurr on November 20 and got the card back on December 4, for a 14-day TAT. 

TTM Success - John Gelnar

A couple more vintage cards here; these fromma TTM success from John Gelnar.  I picked up the above 1970 Topps from the Virginia Beach show.  The card is pretty beat up, and I think Gelnar felt a little sorry for me because of it. 

I say that because he added this 1965 Topps rookie card, which looks really nice. It is unfortunate that Jerry May is no longer alive. Or I would look to complete the card. 

Gelnar (b. 1943) played in the majors in 1964, 1967 and from 1969 to 1971.  He had a record of 7-14 with 117 strike outs and a 3.78 ERA. 

I mailed to Gelnar on November 18 and got the cards back on December 2, for a 14-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Felix Mantilla

Here are some more nice vintage cards that were added to the autograph album. I picked up three of these Felix Mantilla cards at the Virginia Beach show, and the last one (the 1964 Topps) was picked up from Conrad's boxes. 

All of the cards turned out great.  I especially like the 1959 Topps.  All of of them were in great shape and didn't cost much. 

I mailed to Mantilla on November 17 and got the cards back on December 2, for a 15-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $5/card.

TTM Success - Terry Fox

This nice 1965 Topps Terry Fox was picked up at the Chantilly show a couple weeks ago. I sent it off to be signed TTM and got it back. It turned out great. 

Fox (b. 1935) played in the majors from 1960 to 1966 for the Braves (Milwaukee), Tigers and Phillies. He had a record of 29-19 with 185 strike outs and a 2.99 ERA. I mailed to Fox on October 26 and got the card back on November 8, for a 13-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Wayne Causey

This 1965 Topps card of Wayne Causey is another pickup from the Chantilly show.  I got it because I knew I had Causey's 1991 Crown Orioles card to send in and this one was a good one to send with it.  It turned out great.

The Crown Orioles card also turned out nicely. Causey has a great signature.

I mailed to Causey on October 30 and got the cards back on November 7, for an 8-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Jerry Hinsley

This 1965 Topps Mets Rookie Stars card came back signed TTM from Jerry Hinsley.  I just checked and it looks like Gary Kroll also signs TTM, so this card may be put back in the mail tomorrow morning. 

Hinsley (b. 1945) played in the majors in 1964 and 1967 for the Mets.  He had a record of 0-2 with 14 strike outs and a 7.08 ERA.

I mailed to Hinsley on June 15 and got the card back on June 26, for an 11-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Leo Burke

This is another TTM success that was spawned from a combination of cards from Conrad's boxes and the 1991 Crown Orioles set.  I had seen this 1991 Crown Leo Burke, and checked to see if he signed TTM.  When I saw that he did, I pulled the 1964 Topps out of Conrad's stuff. 

I, then, went to Ebay and picked up Burke's 1963 and 1965 Topps.  All of the cards look great.

Burke (b. 1934) was a graduate of Virginia Tech.  He played in the majors from 1958 to 1959 and 1961 to 1965 for the Orioles, Angels, Cardinals and Cubs.  He had 72 hits, 9 home runs and a .239 batting average.

I mailed to Burke on January 27 and got the cards back on February 16, for a 20-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Dick Tracewski

A new year is upon us, and I am still behind on posting my TTM successes.  I was ahead for a bit, but then, after the minor league season ended, I sent out a ton of TTMs and fell behind again.  It is an embarrassment of riches, honestly, and I definitely am not complaining.  So, continuing to plug along, here is a nice 1965 Topps that I got signed TTM by Dick Tracewski.

Tracewski (b. 1935) played in the majors from 1962 to 1969 for the Dodgers and Tigers.  He had 262 hits, 8 home runs and a .213 batting average.  He won the World Series with the Dodgers in 1963 and 1965 and the Tigers in 1968.

He managed the Tigers for two games in 1979, winning both.

I mailed to Tracewski on October 26 and got the card back on November 21, for a 26-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Jackie Brandt

Since I was trying to add move vintage Topps cards to my autograph album, and also knock out a few 1991 Crown Orioles cards, I sent out another TTM request to former Oriole, Jackie Brandt.  I got the above 1965 Topps signed, as well as the 91 Crown.

Both cards turned out great, and have been inserted into the album already.

I mailed to Brandt on October 26 and got the cards back on November 10, for a 15-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mike White

Another signed vintage Topps was added to m autograph album when this 1965 Topps came in from Mike White.  He signed the card in blue ballpoint pen.  I like the old Colt .45s hat that White is wearing for this card.

White (b. 1938) played in the majors from 1963 to 1965 for the Colt .45s/Astros.  He had 78 hits, 0 home runs and a .264 batting average.

I mailed to White on October 19 and got the card back on October 28, for a 9-day TAT.

TTM Success - Gary Peters

Gary Peters was one of the free signers at the 2019 National.  For whatever reason, I didn't find these two cards before I left on that trip.  So, this 1972 Topps and the 1965 Topps 1964 Pitching Leaders card were sent TTM to him recently.

Both of these cards have seen better days, but they are each signed and will take residence in my autograph album.  Both look a bit nicer than they did before I mailed them off.

Peters (b. 1937) played in the majors from 1959 to 1972 for the White Sox and Red Sox.  He had a career record of 124-103 with an ERA of 3.25 and 1,420 strike outs.  He was the 1963 Rookie of the Year, and an All Star in 1064 and 1967.  He won 20 games in 1964, as well, which landed him 7th in the AL MVP voting.  He was the AL ERA leader in 1963 (2.33) and 1966 (1.98).

I mailed to Peters on October 19 and got the cards back on October 27, for an 8-day TAT.

TTM Success - Len Gabrielson

There will be a wave of vintage cards coming back TTM soon, and this return from Len Gabrielson was part of the initial wave I sent out this past month.  I also went on a bit of a buying spree that yielded me several that I have sent off as of late.

I was able to get a 1965 Topps and a 1968 Topps (above) signed TTM.  He inscribed both of them and has a really awesome signature.

Gabrielson (b. 1940) played in the majors in 1960 and from 1963 to 1970 for the Braves (Milwaukee), Cubs, Giants, Angels and Dodgers.  He had 446 hits, 37 home runs and a .253 batting average.

I mailed to Gabrielson on October 17 and got the cards back on October 24, for a 7-day TAT.

TTM Success - Jim Duffalo

It took two tries, but I finally got this beat up old card signed by Jim Duffalo.  This is a pretty rough 1965 Topps, but it will still look cool in my album.  I've shifted my focus a bit, as of late, to early-to-mid 2000s Bowmans, just to get them out of my box.  I still enjoy getting vintage cards signed, and will probably shift back to some of those sometime soon.

Duffalo (b. 1935) played in the majors from 1961 to 1965 for the Giants and Reds.  He had a career record of 15-8 with 210 strike outs and a 3.39 ERA.

I mailed to Duffalo on October 30 and got the card back on November 13, for a 14-day TAT.

TTM Success - George Thomas

This 1965 Topps card of George Thomas sat in my "to be TTMed" box for a while before I finally got around to sending it out.  I'm glad I finally did, as the card turned out great.  I also don't have a whole lot of 65s, so getting one done is always nice.

Thomas (b. 1937) played in the majors from 1957 to 1958 and 1961 to 1971 for the Tigers, Angels, Red Sox and Twins.  He had 430 hits, 46 home runs and a .255 batting average.

I mailed to Thomas on August 4 and got the card back on August 29, for a 25-day TAT.
