TTM Success - Mike Boddicker

One more 1991 Crown Orioles card was added to the autograph album when I finally sent a TTM request out to former Oriole, Mike Boddicker.  I thought I had gotten him TTM before, but apparently not.
I had some nice cards of his to send.  I got the above 1985 Topps Glossy All Stars and a 1988 Topps signed. I also got a 1981 Topps Orioles rookies signed, then sent that one off to Floyd Rayford.  It also has Mark Corey on it, so I should be able to fill that card up.

Boddicker (b. 1957) played in the majors from 1980 to 1993 for the Orioles, Red Sox, Royals and Brewers.  He had a record of 134-116 with 1,330 strike outs and a 3.80 ERA.

He was a 20-game winner in 1984.  That season, he was an All Star.  He also finished 4th in the AL Cy Young race and 25th in the AL MVP voting.  He finished 3rd in the 1983 AL Rookie of the Year voting in 1983 and was a Gold Glove Award winner in 1990.  He won the World Series with the Orioles in 1983.  He appeared on the 1999 Hall of Fame ballot, but received no votes.

I mailed to Boddicker on January 31 and got the cards back on February 10, for a 10-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Alejandro Pena

I sent off a few more Alejandro Pena cards TTM because they had been sitting in a pile on my desk after I had gotten him to sign my 1987 Topps card and I realized he signed for a fee.  I would have sent more initially, but he only signed the 87, which was good.  I decided later on to go ahead and pay his (very minimal) fee and get a few more in my album.  The above 1985 Topps Glossy All Star set card was one that I knew would look awesome when signed.  It definitely does.
I hardly have any 1984 Donruss, so I wanted to get the one I had of Pena signed (above, left), and I threw in a 1990 Topps to round out the submission.  All of the cards I sent turned out great.  I took the rest of the cards I had of Pena and sent them out to some friends so they, too, could send to him.

I mailed to Pena on August 18 and got the cards back on August 24, for a 6-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $3.00/card.

TTM Success - Dan Petry

I'm trying to knock out a few posts this weekend to move some cards along, so here is my third post today.  I had Dan Petry's cards sitting in my box for forever, and I finally got around to sending to him.  I especially wanted to get this 1985 Topps Glossy All Stars card signed.  It turned out really well.
I also needed him for my 1987 Topps set, so here is the one I got back.

Petry (b. 1958) is not related to my good friend, Josh, as far as I know.  He played in the majors from 1979 to 1991 for the Tigers, Angels, Braves and Red Sox.  He had a career record of 125-104 with 1,063 strike outs and a 3.95 ERA.  He was an All Star in 1985 and finished a career-best 5th in the AL Cy Young voting in 1984.  He won the World Series with the Tigers in 1984, as well.

I mailed to Petry on January 7 and got the cards back on February 4, for a 28-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $14.00.
