2025 National Paid Signer - Billy Williams

For my next paid signer (Billy Williams), I had a 2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary card put aside.  It was a nice card, but after discussing with Max, I opted to find a 1961 Topps of Williams to get signed instead.  With what I was paying for the signing, it made sense to find his rookie card and go ahead and get it signed. 

The card turned out nicely.  Williams was really nice, and shook my hand after he signed.  I had heard that he could be very difficult at Wrigley, but he was nice at the show.  I probably should have upgraded my signed baseball, but this 61 Topps will look awesome in the autograph album. 

Hall of Fame TTM Success - Billy Williams

I got a pleasant surprise today when I got home from work. My wife had texted me that I got one of my TTM packages in; I thought it was someone other than who it turned out to be...

You see, I had 9 TTM requests pending, a couple of which were Hall of Famers, while others were just historical players of note...


Needless to say, I was happy to see that inside my mailer was my 44th Hall of Famer, Mr. Billy Williams!Williams (my 24th TTM success) played from 1959 to 1976 for the Cubs and A's. He only played a handful of games in 1959 and 1960, then earned the 1961 Rookie of the Year award. He retired with 2,711 hits, 426 home runs and a batting average of .290. He won the batting title in 1972 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1987 (his 6th ballot) with 85.7% of the vote.

I'm really glad to get this one, I was beginning to worry. I sent a check for $20.00 and the ball to him on June 24 and got it back today (August 19). I checked my online banking last night and the check hadn't been cashed, so I wasn't expecting this ball today...

I need to check and see, but I think I have three other Hall of Famers who I'm waiting on. I may try to get a few more (of the 8 pending baseballs) in before I send off more requests. We'll see.
