Karl Spooner (b. 1931 - d. 1984) pitched for parts of 2 seasons (1954 and 1955) for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Take a look at the back of this card. He pitched in 2 games (complete games, mind you) in 1954, he pitched 2 complete game shutouts and struck out 27 batters. Wow. Unfortunately, during spring training in 1955, Spooner didn't warm up properly and severely injured his arm. He only pitched a few games after that. His final numbers were 10-6, 3.09 ERA and 105 strikeouts.
