When I saw that Harold Baines was signing recently, I had the perfect card in mind to send to him. That above 1981 Topps rookie card wasn't it. I wanted to send his 1992 Donruss Diamond Kings, but I couldn't find it among my many boxes of cards. So, I went with the suitable alternate and sent an extra 81 Topps rookie that I had found (while I was looking for the DK).
Baines usually charges $5/card, but I took a shot and sent this one out without the fee, and he still signed it. I think folks are now getting their cards back unsigned if they send without the fee, so if I mail to him again, I'll be sure to include cash.
I mailed to Baines on May 20 and got the card back signed on June 1, for a 12-day TAT.
