Another TTM Success From Bruce Miller

Almost exactly three years ago, I posted a success from Bruce Miller.  That time, he signed a 1976 Topps.  My friend, Ryan, sent me this 1975 Topps to try, and it came back signed. 

The card turned out great.  I like all of the blue on the card, from the border, to the sky and touched off by the signature. 

I mailed to Miller on November 13 and got the card back signed on November 29, for a 16-day. 

Another TTM Success From Von Joshua

Here are a few more cards that came out of the boxes from Conrad.  I had gotten Von Joshua TTM back in 2018.  I sent again recently to add these 70s cards to the autograph album. 

The card at the top of the page is a 1975 Topps Mini.  Above are: 1971 Topps, 1974 Topps, 1975 Topps and 1980 Topps.  All of the cards turned out great.

I mailed to Joshua on October 29 and got the cards back on April 1 for a 154-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Manny Sanguillen

Manny Sanguillen is a player that I have gotten in person before (2015 National VIP signer).  I got him on a ball then; this was before I was concentrating on cards.  Since then, I had put aside a few of his cards to try to get him into the autograph album.  Above is his 1974 Topps, which has a cool action shot.

This is his 1975 Topps.  Both of the cards came out of the Conrad boxes a while back. 

Sanguillen (b. 1944) played in the majors in 1967 and from 1969 to 1980 for the Pirates and A's.  He had 1,500 hits, 65 home runs and a .296 batting average.  He won the World Series with the Purates in 1971 and 1979.  He was an All Star in 1971, 1972 and 1975.  His best MVP finish was 8th in 1971 (NL).

Sanguillen appeared on the 1986 Hall of Fame ballot and appeared on 0.5% of the vote. 

I mailed to Sanguillen on December 24 and got the cards back on March 22 for an 88-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $10.00/card.

Another TTM Success From Dave Tomlin

This 1975 Topps that came back signed TTM from Dave Tomlin was either in an assortment of cards Ryan gave me or from the Conrad boxes from a few years ago.  I wanted to add another 75 to the autograph album, having gotten Tomlin several years ago on some of his other cards. 

I mailed to Tomlin on January 2 and got the card back on January 21 for a 19-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Nyls Nyman

Here are a couple of 70s cards that came back signed TTM from Nyls Nyman.  The above 1976 Topps looks pretty cool.

The above 1975 Topps also turned out well.  I'll have to look and see if any of the other guys are signing.

Nyman (b. 1954) played in the majors from 1974 to 1977 for the White Sox.  He had 85 hits, 2 home runs and a .238 batting average.

I mailed to Nyman on October 29 and got the cards back on January 21 for an 84-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Mike Garman

Back in 2018, I got a TTM success from Mike Garman.  Recently, I got some from my friend Ryan, and a couple more Garmans were in the stack.

I got a 1975 Topps (top) and a 1977 Topps (above) back signed.  Both turned out nicely.

I mailed to Garman on November 23 and got the cards back on January 2 for a 40-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Fred Stanley

Back in 2016 and in 2021, I got TTM successes from Fred Stanley.  When I got the 2021 success back, I had forgotten that I had sent to Stanley before, so the post was pretty much a duplicate of the first one.  This time around, I remembered that I had sent to him before.  This request was to get some more older cards out of my boxes. 

I got a 1974 Topps (top), 1975 Topps (above left) and a 1980 Topps (above right) signed by Stanley.

The cards turned out great.  I'm pretty sure the 74 and 75 came from the massive amount of cards I got from Conrad.  The 1980 came from a broken set that I've used to populate TTMs for some time now.

I mailed to Stanley on September 6 and got the cards back on September 24, for an 18-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Ted Kubiak

Some more cards from Conrad were cleaned out of the boxes when i sent out another TTM request to Ted Kubiak.  I got his 1975 Topps Mini (above) taken care of.  I like this set, and have added a bunch to the autograph album. 

I had this old Fleer A's sticker floating around, so I tossed it in the envelope.  It looks really cool, as well.

Here are a 1971, 1974 and 1975 Topps that got signed.  I should be pretty much cleaned out of Kubiak by now.  That just means he will be at a show nearby soon and I won't have anything to take with me.  Not that I need anything else.

I mailed to Kubiak on September 6 and got the cards back on September 24 for an 18-day TAT. 

TTM Success - John Morris

Finally, a bunch of TTM successes came in over the last couple of months.  I have a decent stack of stuff to post, which will carry me well into the off-season.  Then, I will be sending out more requests daily.

This TTM success from John Morris helped me add a 1991 Crown Orioles card to the album, along with a 1975 Topps and a 1975 Topps Mini. 

Morris (b. 1941) played in the majors in 1966 and from 1968 to 1974 for the Phillies, Orioles, Pirates, Brewers and Giants.  He had a record of 11-7 with 137 strike outs and a 3.95 ERA.

I mailed to Morris on July 15 and got the cards back on August 5, for a 21-day TAT. 

2024 National Card Show Free Signer - Rico Petrocelli

Rico Petrocelli has been at several Nationals in the past.  So, when I saw he was signing at this one, I knew I'd need to pick up some of his cards.  I had used up all of the ones I had here at the house.  I found a vintage dealer early on at the show and picked up these two Topps cards.  The one above is a 1975 Topps, and below is a 1974.

Petrocelli was nice as usual.  He told stories to folks in line, as is usual for him.

His autograph is always a nice one.  He tales a while to sign, since he has such a nice signature and talks with everyone.   Still, that's worth it; way beyond the folks who barely speak a word to you or look up at you while signing.

I always appreciate meeting Petrocelli.  He's a great guy.

TTM Success - Vic Harris

Another TTM success came in that I had forgotten that I had sent out, this 1975 Topps Vic Harris.  The card came out of Conrad's boxes and turned out nicely.

Harris (b. 1950) played in the majors from 1972 to 1978 and 1980 for the  Rangers, Cubs, Cardinals, Giants and Brewers.  He had 349 hits, 13 home runs and a .217 biting average. 

I mailed to Harris on January 20, 2023, and got the card back today (March 8, 2024), for a 413-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Fred Scherman

A few more cards from Conrad's boxes came back signed TTM when I received this success from Fred Scherman.  The above 1974 Topps Traded turned out nicely.  Scherman has a nice signature, and it shows up well on the card. 

I also got a 1971 Topps and a 1975 Topps signed by Scherman.  Both of these look great, also.

I mailed to Scherman on February 15 and got the cards back on February 26, for an 11-day TAT. 

TTM Success - John Doherty

These are two different cards, even though they don't look different.  One is a 1975 Topps John Doherty and the other is a 1975 Topps Mini Doherty.  My scanner enlarged the mini for me, so it looks like I scanned the same card twice.

Doherty signed both cards for me TTM, and they both turned out nicely. It was when my mail person rammed them into my mailbox that I had a problem.  She hasn't been doing the best job lately, and I may have to say something to the folks I deal with at the counter.  I'm tired of her leaving the mailbox open and ramming stuff in there. It's a big mailbox, the stuff will fit.

Anyway, Doherty (b. 1951) played in the majors in 1974 and 1975 for the Angels.  He had 76 hits, 4 home runs and a .240 batting average.

I mailed to Doherty on January 13 and got the cards back on February 23, for a 21-day TAT. 

2024 Cubs Convention Autos From Max

Another Cubs Convention has come and gone, and my amazing friend, Max, took a bunch of cards and got them signed for me.  He always delivers, and this year he got me some good stuff taken care of.  He also helped me clear some room in my boxes.  The above 2020 Donruss orange foil of Adbert Alzolay turned out great.  I had a ton of Alzolay's cards, and Max got a good one done.

I'm pretty sure Max has gotten every single Dave Otto out of my boxes, and the above 1992 Topps is a nice Otto card.  Surely there's one or two left hidden in a box somewhere.  That just means a have way too many boxes.  I was also glad to see this 2011 Topps Ryan Dempster get done.  Thats another guy who I'm finallynrunning low on. 

I remember finding the two Ray Birris cards in the boxes I had on loan from Conrad.  He's got a great signature and the 1974 and 1975 Topps were great additions to the autograph album.

I just recently cleared out a bunch of Manny Trillo cards and sent them to Max so he would have more for the next time he sees Trillo.

I am also finally low on Geovany Soto.  Getting those two 2007 Bowmans signed was nice, since I've had a ton of 07s since that set came out. That was the first "modern" (as in post 2000) Bowman set that I had in bulk.  They've just been languishing in a box since then, so it was nice to get some moved. 

Some more recent stuff was thinned out as well.  It was unfortunate that the Cubs waited until the last minute to announce who was going to be at the Con.  I had to scramble to get a package together for Max, but I had a lot of 2022 and 2023 stuff at the ready.  We probably could have racked up a lot more autos had the Cubs put the list out a week earlier.  Still, adding the Javier Assad, Caleb Kilian and Mark Leiter, Jr. cards to the album was nice.

I was even able to get a couple Alexander Canario cards out of the Box Of Shame for the Con.  I had missed him when I saw the Twnnessee Smokies a couple years ago, so it was nice to finally get him. Max rounded out the package with a 2023 Topps Update Jose Cuas, a Panini Prizm Luke Little and a 2020 Bowman Luke Little.

Thanks for getting these done for me, Max.  I look forward to your next message with a list of guys you need this season.  Baseball is back and I'm excited to see who all each of us it able to see this year. 

Another TTM Success From Frank Tepedino

Here are some cards that I pulled from Conrad's boxes and sent off TTM.  I had gotten Frank Tepedino before, on a 1971 Topps, but I liked the 1975 Topps Mini, 1975 Topps and 1974 Topps that I had found.

The cards turned out nicely.   I still have a few guys to send to out of what I pulled from Conrad's stuff, but that stack is just about taken care of.

I mailed to Tepedino on December 6, and got the cards back on December 16, for a 10-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Chris Ward

A colorful TTM success came back from Chris Ward when I got his 1975 Topps Mini (above) and his 1975 Topps (below) signed.

Both cards look great.  They add some pop to the album with the bold colors from that set.

Ward (b. 1949) played in the majors in 1972 and 1974 for the Cubs.  He had 28 hits, 1 home run and a .203 batting average. 

I mailed to Ward on November 7 and got the cards back on December 7, for a 30-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Jack Heidemann

Several more cards from Conrad's boxes and one from the Winston-Salem card shop got signed in this TTM success from Jack Heidemann.  I sent off the above 1975 Topps Mini, which turned out great.

I also sent off a 1971, 1975 and 1977 Topps to get signed.  All of them look nice.

Heidemann (b. 1949) played in the majors from 1969 to 1972 and 1974 to 1977 for the Indians, Cardinals, Mets and Brewers.  He had 231 hits, 9 home runs and a .211 batting average.

I mailed to Heidemann on May 15 and got the cards back on May 30, for a 15-day TAT. 

TTM Success - John Morlan

Some more 1975 Topps cards were added to the autograph album when I got this TTM success back from John Morlan.  I got a 1975 Topps Mini (above) and a 1975 Topps (below) signed in the process.

Morlan (b. 1947) played in the majors from 1973 to 1974 for the Pirates.  He had a record of 2-5 with 61 strike outs and a 4.16 ERA.

I mailed to Morlan on May 15 and got the cards back on May 26 for an 11-day TAT. 

2023 National Free Signer - Paul Popovich

Paul Popovich was the next free signer that I got at this year's National.  I had received a TTM from him prior to leaving for the show, but those cards haven't been scanned yet.

I ended up with 4 vouchers for Popovich, and got a 1975 Topps Mini, 1969 Topps, 1972 Topps and a 1975 Topps signed.

I only brought the two cards with me, so I picked up the 69 and 72 at the show Thursday morning prior to the scheduled signing.  I was glad to pick them up cheaply, since the 1972 is a high number.

Popovich (b. 1940) played in the majors in 1964 and from 1966 to 1975 for the Cubs, Dodgers and Pirates.  He had 403 hits, 14 home runs and a .233 batting average.

TTM Success - Pat Bourque

Here are some more mid-70s cards that I added to the autograph album.  This TTM success from Pat Bourque afforded me a signed 1975 Topps mini (above), which turned out nicely.

I also got a 1974 Topps (above, left) and a 1975 Topps (above, right).  These also turned out well.  His signature blends will with the faux autograph on the 1975 Topps; his auto hasn't changed much in the past 50 years.

There won't be any completing the above 1973 Topps rookie first basemen card; Gonzalo Marquez has since passed away.  I could add Cabell, though.  I think I still need him on a 1991 Crown Orioles card.

Bourque (b. 1947) played in the majors from 1971 to 1974 for the Cubs, A's and Twins.  He had 87 hits, 12 home runs and a .215 batting average.  Bourque won the World Series in 1973 with the A's.

I mailed to Bourque on January 25 and got the cards back on March 17, for a 51-day TAT.
