1955 Topps #99 - Frank Leja

Frank Leja (b. 1936 - d. 1991) played in the majors during the 1954, 1955 and 1962 seasons for the Yankees and Angels. I use the phrase 'played in the majors' loosely, poor Leja played a total of 26 games over that span. He had one (1) career hit (a single) and had a .043 batting average. If you look at it this way, if making your way to 3,000 hits was Mike Tyson's punch out, you would start with Leja, who would be Glass Joe and have to go through Roberto Clemente at 3,000 who would be Mike Tyson. I kind of feel bad for Leja. One career hit. Hey, at least he has a baseball card.

He was actually on the LA Angels in 62, not the Dodgers. He had a card in the Leaf set in 1960.

Thanks for the input. I can't believe I did that. I saw LA and immediately assumed Dodgers. I have corrected it, thanks!!
