TTM Success - Mike Anderson

I dipped into my card boxes and was able to get a good many signed by Mike Anderson. The above 1972 Topps Phillies Rookie Stars card turned out well. I'll have to see if i cam get the other two guys or not.
I also added a 1973 Topps, 1974 Topps and 1976 Topps Traded to my album. I like the airbrushed 76 Traded; they did a really good job with the Cardinals logo.

Anderson (b. 1951) played in the majors from 1971 to 1979 for the Phillies, Cardinals and Orioles. He had 367 hits, 28 home runs and a .246 batting average.

I mailed to Anderson on September 23 and got the cards back on October 9, for a 16-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tom House

I moved some 70s cards out of my boxes when I got this TTM success from Tom House.  It starts off with the airbrushed 1976 Topps Traded of House.  They did a pretty good job with the airbrushing, I think.
I got this 1972 Topps Braves Rookies card signed.  I'll need to look and see if the other guys are living, and if they sign.
Finally, I added a 1974, 1977 and 1978 to the album.

House (b. 1947) played in the majors from 1971 to 1978 for the Braves, Red Sox and Mariners.  He had a career record of 29-23 with 261 strike outs and a 3.79 ERA.

I mailed to House on May 8 and got the cards back on May 14, for an 8-day TAT.

TTM Success - Doc Medich

I received this TTM success from George "Doc" Medich that added a few nice 70s cards to my autograph album.

This 1976 Topps Traded turned out really well, I think.
I also got a 1977 and 1978 Topps signed by Medich.  His signature is pretty small, but it turned out well on all of the cards.

Medich (b. 1948) played in the majors from 1972 to 1982 for the Yankees, Pirates, A's, Mariners, Mets, Rangers and Brewers.  He had a career record of 124-105 with 955 strike outs and a 3.78 ERA.

I mailed to Medich on July 24 and got the cards back on August 12, for a 19-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ray Fosse

This TTM success from former catcher, Ray Fosse, was nice in that it was also a success from Spring Training.  I sent off some nice cards, and they all look great now that they are signed.  I liked this airbrushed 1976 Topps Traded showing Fosse after he had been traded back to the Indians from the A's.
I also got a 1972, 1977 and a 1980 signed by Fosse.

Fosse (b. 1947) played in the majors from 1967 to 1977 and 1979 for the Indians, A's, Mariners and Brewers.  He had 758 hits, 61 home runs and a .256 batting average.  He was a two-time All Star (1970 and 1971) and won the World Series twice with the A's (1973 and 1974).  He was a Gold Glove Award winner in 1970 and 1971, and his best MVP finish was 23rd (1970, AL).

Fosse was injured during a collision with Pete Rose on the last play of the 1970 All Star game.  He wound up with a later-diagnosed separated shoulder that had healed incorrectly.  That collision is still talked about today.

I mailed to Fosse on February 19, via A's Spring Training and got the cards back on March 11, for a 20-day TAT.

Sox and Cubs Fest Autos From Max

I can always count on my good friend, Max, to take some cards off of my hands and turn them into signed cards for my autograph album.  This year, I got a nice return from both Cubs and Sox Fests, and the autographs are really great.

I was excited about the above Zack Collins that I had pulled out of a pack a month or so ago.  It had gotten damaged in transit to Max, but you can't tell from the scan.
He hooked me up with some nice Will Venable cards, especially the above 2013 emerald parallel.  You can't see the auto too well from the scan, but it is there.
Getting these two Venables was nice, too, because they had hung out in my Bowman box for quite a long time.
These Randy Hundley cards turned out well.  He has a funky signature, and you can definitely see that on the 1973 Topps that he signed (right).
Here are a couple horizontal cards that look really nice.
Max got me a whole bunch of cards signed.  I have no more Ed Farmer in my bulk boxes, which is nice.  I always enjoy moving stuff out of those boxes and either into my album or as trade bait.
We were able to fix my issue of not having a Daryl Boston for my 1987 set.  I forgot to send him one last year, and this year, we made sure one got done.
He also got these Bostons signed, and they all look nice.
I was upset that I bought a Bowman Hi Tek Nicky Delmonico at the National last year, and misplaced it.  It would have looked nice when signed.  Still, I got some nice stuff back, and the 2010 Ryan Sweeney turned out really well (top left).
Here are a few more of the cards Max got done for me.  The 1976 Traded (bottom left) was a nice addition to the album.
Finally, I have a signed Pete LaCock card for my album.  This 1978 Topps is really nice, and I'm gad Max hooked me up with it.

Thanks so much, as always, Max.  I hope you were able to get some good stuff for yourself, also.  I can't wait til the next signing takes place and we can put some more of my bulk cards to use.

Ebay Pickups For The Autograph Album - Oscar Gamble

I have always wanted a signed copy of Oscar Gamble's iconic 1976 Topps Traded.  Unfortunately, Gamble passes away earlier this year.  I was afraid I wouldn't be able to add this card to my album.  Thankfully, I found this one on Ebay for a pretty decent price, and picked it up.  I compared the auto with some PSA authenticated ones, and it looks like it checks out.
This 1979 Topps came with the 76 Traded, so I also added this to the album.  It isn't the iconic 76, but still a nice card, and I was happy to add it.

Gamble (b. 1949 - d. 2018) played in the majors from 1969 to 1985 for the Cubs, Phillies, Indians, Yankees, White Sox and Padres.  He had 1,195 hits, 200 home runs and a .265 batting average.  He finished 29th in the 1977 AL MVP race.

Gamble died of Ameoblastic Carcinoma (cancer of the jawbone) in 2018.

TTM Success - Jack Brohamer

Here is another TTM success with some early to mid 1970s cards.  This 1973 Topps Jack Brohamer has a cool action shot on it and looks really nice when signed.  This is another card that I picked up earlier this month while I was in Columbia.
I also got these, including a 1976 Topps Traded, a 1978 Topps, 1980 Topps and a 1981 Topps.  They all look really cool.

Brohamer (b. 1950) played in the majors from 1972 to 1980 for the Indians, White Sox and Red Sox.  He had 613 hits, 30 home runs and a .245 batting average.

I mailed to Brohamer on May 8 and got the cards back on May 19, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Doug Rader

I added some really cool older Topps cards with this success from Doug Rader.  Starting with this 1968 Topps, I had a few really nice cards that I sent out, and I am happy that I got them back.  I had read that some folks had sent cards to him, and didn't get a return.  I believe they sent to the wrong place, though.
I got another awesome airbrushed card signed (the 1976 Traded Padres card).  I also like the Astros jersey on the other 1976.  The 1974 and 1990 manager card also turned out great.

Rader (b. 1944) played in the majors from 1967 to 1977 for the Astros, Padres and Blue Jays.  He had 1,302 hits, 155 home runs and a .251 batting average.  He was a five-time Gold Glove Award winner (1970 to 1974).  He appeared on the 1983 Hall of Fame ballot, but did not receive any votes.

He managed the Rangers from 1983 to 1985; the White Sox in 1986 and the Angels from 1989 to 1991.  His career managerial record is 388-417 (.482 %).

I mailed to Rader on February 27 and got the cards back on March 9, for a 10-day TAT.
