2023 National Free Signer - Ron Kittle

Ron Kittle signs TTM and has been a free signer at the National in the past. I also have sent Kittle cards to my friend, Max, a few times.  So, when Kittle was announced as a signer this year, I struggled to find cards to take with me.

I ended up with two 1989 Bowmans, and two vouchers, so those got signed.  Both of the cards turned out nicely.  I've added quite a few 1989 Bowmans to the album lately.  I still have a bunch unsigned taking up space in my boxes.  I'll have to find some more signings and move them out.

2021 National Free Signer - Ron Kittle

Ron Kittle was another of the free signers at the National.  I had recently gotten him TTM, so I was short on some cards.  I had wanted him on this 1991 Crown Orioles card, so I had it put aside, and it was easy to locate.
I also found this 1990 Fleer of Kittle in a random box.  I haven't gotten many of these signed, though.  I have a partial set of 1990 Fleer around the house somewhere, but I have no idea where I put the box.

The 1990 Fleer looks great signed.  Kittle was nice, but he wasn't signing his 1984 Topps card for anyone.  I overheard him saying that he hated that card, and the photo was ugly.  Several players refuse to sign certain cards for various reasons.  It's kind of funny hearing some of the reasons, but for set builders, it hurts sometimes.  I think he did sign one for someone who put some additional money down for Kittle's charity, so the 84 Topps can be had, for a price.

Another TTM Success From Ron Kittle

When I sent a TTM request to Ron Kittle back in April of 2016, I wasn't working on the 1987 Topps set.  So, I had to send to him again.  I got my 1987 Topps signed, and also another card that I wanted to add to my album.
I had to dig for this 1991 Fleer, but I was able to get Kittle on an Orioles card.  I hadn't seen another Orioles Kittle, so this one it pretty cool.  I am also one of the rare people who like the 1991 Fleer set.  I love the color, and also the lettering and black lines.  To me, it is just a sharp set.  Some folks don't care for the yellow.

I sent to Kittle on October 10 and got the cards back on October 27, for a 17-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ron Kittle

I got a great TTM success the other day (April 9) from former slugger, Ron Kittle.  I mailed to him on March 28, and got the cards back 12 days later.  I was really excited to get him because I heard from my friend, Max, that he was a really nice guy and would sign multiples for me.  I got an 89 Topps, 89 Topps Traded, an 88 Topps and a 90 Topps.

Kittle (b. 1958) played in the majors from 1982 to 1991 for the White Sox, Yankees, Indians and Orioles.  He had 648 hits, 176 home runs and a .239 batting average.  He was the AL Rookie of the Year in 1983.
