Another TTM Success From Ken Hamlin

Here are a couple cards that I picked up at a recent card show to send out TTM. I sent to Ken Hamlin back in 2021 and decided it was time to send to him again, once I found the above 1961 Post.  The card looks nice.  The back is a bit jacked up, but it's ok.

I also found this rough 1966 Topps at the same show and included it in the TTM request.

I mailed to Hamlin on October 28 and got the cards back on December 26, for a 58-day TAT.

TTM Success - Stan Thomas

Here is a nice 1976 Topps that I got signed TTM by Stan Thomas.  It's a sharp-looking card showing Thomas in a retro Rangers jersey.

Thomas (b. 1949) played in the majors from 1974 to 1977 for the Rangers, Indians, Mariners and Yankees.  He had a record of 11-14 with 123 strike outs and a 3.70 ERA.

I mailed to Thomas on November 30 and got the card back on December 26, for a 26-day TAT.

TTM Success - Justin Mashore

Another Glamour Shots from 1992 Topps Stadium Club was added to my autograph album with this TTM success from Justin Mashore.  The above card is a nice one, even though it screams 1990s.

I also got a 1992 Upper Deck Minors card signed, which isn't nearly as interesting as the Stadium Club, but it is a nice card, nonetheless. 

Mashore (b. 1972) was a 3rd round pick  y the Tigers in the 1991 June Amateur Draft out of a California Charter School.  He played in the minors from 1991 to 2001 in the Tigers, Padres, Mets, Red Sox and Rockies systems.  He reached AAA, way back in 1995 for 72 games.  In his minor league career, Mashore had 731 hits, 52 home runs and a .242 batting average.

I mailed to Mashore on January 13 and got the cards back on December 26, for a 347-day TAT.

TTM Success - Sterling Slaughter

Ryan sent me this nice 1965 Topps of Sterling Slaughter to try to get it signed TTM.  It came back and looks great.  I love 1965 Topps, so it is a great card to add to the album. 

Slaughter (b. 1941) played in the majors in 1964 for the Cubs.  He had a record of 2-4 with 32 strike outs and a 5.75 ERA.

I mailed to Slaughtet on December 1 and got the card back on December 22, for a 21-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From George Mitterwald

This 1972 Topps George Mitterwald In Action card had been sitting in my 1972 box for quite a while.  I finally pulled it and sent it out TTM to Mitterwald just to get it signed and into my album.  I had sent to Mitterwald back in 2020, but didn't send this card.  I'm glad I finally got it signed and out of my box.

I mailed to Mitterwald on December 12 and got the card back on December 23, for an 11-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Chad Fox

Here is another TTM success that I got back from former pitcher, Chad Fox.  I had gotten him back in 2016 and forgot.  I sent out this 2004 Topps thinking that this would be a new player in my album, but the tags told me otherwise. They really come in handy, if you haven't used them before. Just click on a tag and it'll take you to other posts with the same tag.  

Anyway, I mailed to Fox on December 4 and got the card back on December 23, for a 19-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Clay Parker

A few more early 90s cards were added to the autograph album when I received this TTM success from Clay Parker.  The above 1990 Topps turned out nicely.

I also got a 1991 Donruss, 1991 Fleer and a 1991 Topps signed by Parker. 

Parker (b. 1962) played in the majors in 1987, from 1989 to 1990 and 1992 for the Mariners, Yankees and Tigers.  He had a record of 7-10 with 121 strike outs and a 4.42 ERA.

I mailed to Parker on November 2 and got the cards back on December 23, for a 51-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ralph Roberts

Here is a random 2002 Topps Total that I found in my boxes.  I sent this card out TTM to Ralph Roberts and got it back signed. I was the first listed success for Roberts on SCN, which was pretty cool, considering how long ago this card came out.

Roberts (b. 1980) played in the minors from 2001 to 2006 in the Braves system.   He had a record of 19-22 with 317 strike outs and a 3.48 ERA.  He reached AA, but never got to the majors.

I mailed to Roberts on December 5 and got the card back on December 21, for a 16-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Joe Kmak

Here are a couple middle 90s card that I got signed TTM from Joe Kmak.  The above 1993 Bowman turned out nicely.

I also got a 1993 Pinnacle signed, and it also turned out great.

Kmak (b. 1963) played in the majors in 1993 and 1995 for the Brewers and Cubs.  He had 37 hits, 1 home run and a .227 batting average.

I mailed to Kmak on December 7 and got the cards back on December 19, for a 12-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Montana DuRapau

This random 2019 Topps Update was pulled from my box and sent out TTM to Montana DuRapau.  I had never heard of him before, so it was a good TTM to try to get done.

DuRapau (b. 1992) played in the majors in 2019 for the Pirates.  He went 0-1 with 22 strike outs and a 9.35 ERA.

I mailed to DuRapau on August 10 and got the card back on December 19, for a 131-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Terry Harmon

Here are a couple of cards that insent out recently to add to the Topps autograph count.  I liked the above 1976 Topps card of Terry Harmon, so I sent it out with the 1974 below.

Both cards turned out nicely. The 1974 was already smudged before I sent it. It doesn't affect the card too badly.

I mailed to Harmon on December 7 and got the cards back on December 18, for an 11-day TAT. 

Some Signed 87s For Christmas From Max

Several tougher 1987 Topps cards were crossed off of my checklist when I got a Christmas gift from my good friend, Max.  He has helped me tremendously with this set, and I am very grateful.  I had sent to Brian Fisher TTM, but never got my card back.  Now, I don't need to worry, as the card is now signed and in the 87 album.

I had been promised a signed Ed Correa from someone else, but he hasn't delivered, so this one will take care.of that.

I had mailed to Keith Atherton, but he also hasn't returned my card.  Mickey Hatcher does sign TTM, but for a fee to a vendor who I had a negative experience with some years ago, so I don't necessarily like dealing with his group.  Max saved me so many headaches by crossing these guys off the list.  He also put me at 752 cards, which means I have 40 to go.  I never thought I'd be this close.

TTM Success - Bill Pleis

This 1962 Topps of Bill Pleis was another card that I got from friend, Ryan.  I sent it off TTM and it came back pretty quickly. 

Pleis (b. 1937) played in the majors from 1961 to 1966 for the Twins.  He had a record of 21-16 with 184 strike outs and a 4.07 ERA.

I mailed to Pleis on December 4 and got the card back on December 18, for a 14-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Bill Long

My recent TTM successes stretch beyond cards I pulled from Conrad's boxes and my own vintage stuff.  I still have a ton of junk wax era cards to send out, and got a few taken care of with this success from Bill Long.  He signed the above 1989 Bowman nicely.  This will take a spot in an 8-card page and help me continue to fill that up.

I also got a 1989 Score, 1990 Score Rookies and Traded and a 1990 Topps signed.  Each turned out nicely. 

Long (b. 1960) played in the majors in 1985 and from 1987 to 1991 for the White Sox, Cubs and Expos.  He had a record of 27-27 with 247 strike outs and a 4.37 ERA.

I mailed to Long on December 2 and got the cards back on December 18, for a 16-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Larry Jaster

Here is another card that my buddy, Ryan, sent me to try to get signed TTM. I got this strangely signed Larry Jaster card back recently, and I'm still trying to figure out what he's got going on with his signature. Still, it is a cool card showing a very retro Expos jersey.  These 1970 Topps look very sharp when signed.

Jaster (b. 1944) played in the majors from 1965 to 1970 and 1972 for the Cardinals, Expos and Braves.  He had a record of 35-33, with 313 strike outs and a 3.65 ERA.  He finished 4th in the 1966 AL Rookie of the Year voting. He won the World Series in 1967 with the Cardinals. 

I mailed to Jaster on December 8 and got the card back on December 16, for an 8-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Frank Tepedino

Here are some cards that I pulled from Conrad's boxes and sent off TTM.  I had gotten Frank Tepedino before, on a 1971 Topps, but I liked the 1975 Topps Mini, 1975 Topps and 1974 Topps that I had found.

The cards turned out nicely.   I still have a few guys to send to out of what I pulled from Conrad's stuff, but that stack is just about taken care of.

I mailed to Tepedino on December 6, and got the cards back on December 16, for a 10-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Tyler Norrick

Here's a TTM success that I got back recently where I had forgotten that i had sent to the guy in the first place.  I had the above Tyler Norrick 2006 Bowman Heritage in a box and thought it would be nice to try and get it signed. Little did I know, I had gotten him back in April of 2021 on a 2006 Bowman.  Oh well.  This is actually a 2006 Bowman Heritage mini, and looks great signed.

I mailed to Norrick on December 4 and got the card back on December 16, for a 12-day TAT. 

Another TTM Success From Pete Richert

Pete Richert was another former Oriole who I got TTM recently on his 1991 Crown, along with some nice vintage.

I got these two signed along with the 1991 Crown; a 1964 Topps and a 1973 Topps.  Each card looks really nice.   I especially was happy to get the 1964 Topps signed.

I mailed to Richert on October 26 and got the cards back on December 15, for a 50-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Tony Muser

Recently, I went through my 1991 Crown Orioles set and pulled some more guys to send to who I had already gotten TTM previously.  I paired their cards with some other stuff I had and sent some stuff out.  Tony Muser was one of those guys, and I paired his 1991 Crown with the above 1973 Topps. This is a sharp card, which turned out great.

The 1991 Crown also turned out nicely. 

I mailed to Muser on November 21 and got the cards back on December 15, for a 24-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Jeff Barkley

Here is a random 1986 Topps that I pulled from my box and sent out TTM. Jeff Barkley signed the card nicely. I hadn't gotten many 1986 Topps back in a while, so it was nice adding this one to the autograph album. 

Barkley (b. 1959) played in the majors from 1984 to 1985 for the Indians.  He had a record of 0-3 with 34 strike outs and a 5.40 ERA.  I mailed to Barkley on November 29 and got the card back on December 14, for a 15-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Amon-Ra St. Brown

Since I don't buy football cards, I was worried that I wouldn't have a card of Amon-Ra St. Brown when I saw that he was signing TTM.  I finally found a card of his, which is a pretty cool card, a 2021 Sage Premier Draft card.  I sent it off recently and got it back signed (along with a note on the back of my envelope asking me to vote for him for the Pro Bowl).

St. Brown (b. 1999) has played professionally since 2021 for the Lions.  In his career, he has 290 receptions, 3,248 yards and 18 touch downs.

I mailed to St. Brown on October 7 and got the card back on December 14, for a 68-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Gary Lavelle

When I sent this 1982 Topps of Gary Lavelle to him TTM, I didn't check to see if I had gotten him before.  I had, back in 2018, on 6 cards.  That included a 1982 Topps.  Oh well, now I have another one.

I mailed to Lavelle on November 29 and got the card back on December 13, for a 14-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Charley James

My friend, Ryan, sent me a stack of vintage cards for me to send TTM.  One of the first ones that came back was this 1963 Topps Charley James.  His marker seems to be about to go out, but otherwise, the card looks nice.

James (b. 1937) played in the majors from 1960 to 1965 for the Cardinals and Reds.  He had 358 hits, 29 home runs and a .255 batting average.  He won the World Series with the Cardinals in 1964.

I mailed James on December 1 and got the card back on December 11, for a 10-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Brian Stavisky

A 2005 Topps was added to the autograph album when I got this card back signed TTM from Brian Stavisky.  2005 Topps is a set that I don't have much of anyone after I sold my bulk cards at a card show years ago. 

Stavisky (b. 1980) was a 6th round pick by the A's in the 2002 June Amateur Draft out of Notre Dame.  He played in the minors from 2002 to 2010 in the A's, Dodgers and Phillies systems, reaching AAA.  He had 849 hits, 78 home runs and a .302 batting average.

I mailed to Stavisky on November 30 and got the card back on December 11, for an 11-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Trey Hodges

Here is a nice 2004 Topps that came in signed TTM from Trey Hodges.  2004 Topps is a set that I used to have very little bulk inventory, but I got a broken factory set that I've been using for TTMs.

The card turned out nicely.  He doesn't have much of a signature, but it looks good on this card.

Hodges (b. 1978) played in the majors from 2002 to 2003 for the Braves.  He had a record of 5-3 with 72 strike outs and a 4.77 ERA.

I mailed to Hodges on November 30 and got the card back on December 11, for an 11-day TAT. 

TTM Success - Ron Nischwitz

Here are a couple more vintage cards that I got signed TTM; these being from Ron Nischwitz.  The above 1966 Topps is a sharp card that looks nice signed.

I also got a 1963 Topps signed. It turned out great, as well. 

Nischwitz (b. 1937) played in the majors from 1961 to 1963 and 1965 for the Tigers. He had a record of 5-8 with 58 strike outs and a 4.21 ERA.

I mailed to Nischwitz on November 5 and got the cards back on December 11, for a 36-day TAT.

TTM Success - Delmon Young

Finally.  I have waited 7 years for a private signing with Delmon Young to come up so I could get a 2015 Topps signed.  Young was the catalyst for my greatest in person baseball memory.  He launched a 3-run double in game 2 of the 2014 ALDS to allow the Orioles to come from behind and beat the Tigers and go up 2 games to none in the best of 5 series.  That was the loudest I had ever heard Camden Yards.  It was an amazing feeling, and it still gives me chills today when I watch it.  I sill can't believe I was there.  I was so excited to open 2015 Topps and see that the moment was captured on a Topps flagship card.

Young (b. 1985) played in the majors from 2006 to 2015 for the Rays, Twins, Tigers, Phillies and Orioles.  He had 1,162 hits, 109 home runs and a .283 batting average.  He finished 2nd in the 2007 AL Rookie of the Year voting and was 10th in the 2010 AL MVP voting.  He was the 2012 ALCS MVP.  

I mailed to the signing on November 6 and got the card back on December 11, for a 35-day TAT. I paid a fee of $25.00.

TTM Success - Rob Natal

Never give up hope. These cards had been sent out TTM to Rob Natal for over 6 years.  They finally came back the other day, and look great.  I was going for some old Marlins uniforms, and had picked out some good cards like the above 1993 Stadium Club. 

I also sent off a 1993 Donruss, 1993 Fleer and a 1995 Topps.

Natal (b. 1965) played in the majors from 1992 to 1997 for the Expos and Marlins.  He had 57 hits, 4 home runs and a .197 batting average.

I mailed to Natal on September 20, 2017, and got the cards back on December 9, 2023, for a 2,271-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Charlie Hough

A pass through the.bulk 70s Topps box brought the above Charlie Hough rookie to my attention.  I sent to him way back in 2016 among my first TTMs that I had sent.  I figured it was time to send again, so I put the 72 in the mail with the below Marlins cards.

You can never go wrong with early Marlins stuff.  I love their old uniforms, so I was happy to add the above 1993 Stadium Club (left) and 1994 Upper Deck (right).  Both of these are really cool.

I mailed to Hough on November 16 and got the cards back on December 8, for a 22-day TAT. 

Ramon Vazquez Signed Cards From Michael

My friend, Michael, arranged a private signing with Ramon Vazquez recently.  I had cards pulled for it, but kept forgetting to send them.  I missed the signing, but Michael hooked me up with two cards anyway.

The above 2008 Topps Heritage is a great looking card.  I was glad this was one of the cards he sent me.

Michael also sent me this 2007 Topps Update.  This was one of the sets I had pulled from to send to him.  That card is still on my desk.

Vazquez (b. 1976) played in the majors from 2001 to 2009 for the Mariners, Padres, Red Sox, Indians, Rangers and Pirates.  He had 496 hits, 22 home runs and a .254 batting average.

2023 National Signed Card Pickups

Of course I still have stuff to post from this year's National.  In an attempt to catch up on my TTM posts, I put some National stuff on the back burner.  In cleaning up my desk and card room recently, I found this stack of random autos I picked up on the last day of the show.

I found a vendor who had boxes of IP autos at good prices.  I picked up a bunch of those autos.  As Michael and I were walking out of the show, I had a little money left to spend and came across a vendor who made me a great deal on the above Ronald Acuna signed Allen and Ginter.  The price was great, and the card is PSA authenticated.  I had to pick it up.

Among the random IP autos I got, I grabbed a bunch of old team set stuff. The above Ryan Minor is really nice.  Minor has recently entered Hospice care for his Stage IV colon cancer.  I met Minor several times and he was always a great guy.  It's super sad to hear what he's going through. 

Some other cards I picked up were an assortment of Kinston Indian signed team set cards.  I grabbed duplicates of some of these and gave them to my friend, Billy, toward the end of the season.  It's really cool to go back and see some of these old team set cards.

Finally, I got a handful of old Orioles IP autos and two other random cards.  I really enjoyed going through their box.  I probably would have gotten more, but I was sitting there until the first signing of the day.

I hope the same guy is at the 2024 National, so I can grab some more.

TTM Success - Lowell Palmer

A couple years ago, Pat Neshek recreated this look of Lowell Palmer for the 2019 Topps Heritage set.  I got that card signed TTM back then. Recently, I found the original at a show and decided to get it signed as well. Palmer has a great signature and the card looks awesome. 

Palmer (b. 1947) played in the majors from 1969 to 1972 and 1974 for the Phillies, Cardinals, Indians and Padres.  He had a record of 5-18 with 239 strike outs and a 5.29 ERA.

I mailed to Palmer on November 17 and got the card back on December 8, for a 21-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $10/card.

TTM Success - Dave Huppert

The 1991 Crown Orioles set has helped me identify former Orioles who I had never heard of before.  Dave Huppert was one of those Orioles.  I got the card signed TTM and it looks great.

Huppert (b. 1957) played in the majors in 1983 and 1985 for the Orioles and Twins.  He had 1 hit, no home runs and a .048 batting average.  He got into one game as an Oriole, on September 15, 1983, a day after my third birthday.  I wonder if the Orioles gave him a ring when they won the World Series that year.

I mailed to Huppert on November 28 and got the card back on December 8, for a 10-day TAT.
