TTM Success - Hanley Ramirez

When I saw a private signing pop up for Hanley Ramirez, I got really excited for some reason.  He was never one of my favored players, but I did know that I had some nice cards of his that I would like to get signed.  So, I joined the signing with the intention of getting a card done, and ended up sending two.  I also sent one for my good friend, Gerard.
Both of the cards I sent turned out nicely.  The 2007 Turkey Red (top) may be completed someday with Jose Bautista, but for now, it is in my album.  The above 2008 Piece of History blue parallel was a nice find in my box and also looks great in my album.

Ramirez (b. 1983) played in the majors from 2005 to 2019 for the Red Sox, Marlins Dodgers and Indians.  He had 1,834 hits, 271 home runs and a .289 batting average.  He was the 2009 NL batting champion and a three-time All Star (2008, 2009 and 2010).  He was the 2006 NL Rookie of the Year.  His best MVP finish was 2nd (2009; NL).

I mailed to the signing on November 14 and got the cards back on March 13, for a 119-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $50.00/card (I think).

Today's Card Shop Hits

These are slow times over here, as far as cards are concerned.  I haven't bought anything for myself off of Ebay recently.  The only things I HAVE bought are cards for other people,  If I didn't want most of them to be surprises, I would probably start blogging those, but no, I want to stick to my stuff.

This kind of happens, though, you kind of get complacent and don't do a lot of deals all at once, or you do them, and it takes forever for folks to send.  This is my real problem at the moment.  People are slow to send.  I bought a few cards off of some people recently, and I'm still waiting with anticipation by my mailbox, yet nothing comes.  Might start asking for refunds soon.

Anyway, one thing that never fails me is my local card shop.  Although, today's trip to the shop had me buying loose cards for friends, and none for myself.  I also bought some packs for Chris.  I did, however, get myself a few packs, and they didn't disappoint.

I picked up two packs of 2014 Donruss Series 2 and pulled a nice relic card, the above Hanley Ramirez.  It isn't a patch like Chris's card, but it is still nice.
I also got a pack of 2014 Panini Prizm and pulled this nice Matt Wieters card.  What's with the powder stuff that they put in the packs of these?  Kind of odd.

Anyway, I probably will be hitting sportlots and Ebay soon, that should pull me out of this card slump pretty quickly.

In the meantime, if I bought something from you, SHIP IT!!!  (With tracking, please!)

..and so it begins

I got a LOT of mail in the last two days. 2 autographed baseballs, an autographed bat and this redemption card.
I know Hanley has been in the news for his well publicized benching. I think it had to happen if he was 'dogging it' on the botched play. I wish the Orioles would send a message to some of the 'veteran' players for their play lately.

I got this card as a redemption out of a pack of 2010 Upper Deck. I doubt I'll keep it, as I know someone who is a BIG Hanley Ramirez fan. It looks good though.
