TTM Success - Colby Lewis

This TTM success from former pitcher, Colby Lewis, added some nice cards to the autograph album.  The above 2015 Topps Stadium Club is a great card, from a great set, and I was glad to get it signed.
I also got a 2010 Topps Update and a 2015 Topps Heritage signed by Lewis, and both turned out nicely, as well.

Lewis (b. 1979) played in the majors from 2002 to 2004, 2006 to 2007, 2010 to 2012 and 2014 to 2016 for the Rangers, A's and Tigers.  He had a record of 77-72 with 961 strike outs and a 4.70 ERA.

I mailed to Lewis on May 10, 2021, and got the cards back on December 17, 2022, for a 586-day TAT.

Set Pickups - 2015 Stadium Club

I added a few more 2015 Stadium Club to my set recently with a Sportlots pickup and a nice care package from blog reader, Mark M.

Mark knocked four of the cards off of the list while I added ten from Sportlots.  I have been on Sportlots for probably 10 years (or very close to it) and have enjoyed using it as a tool to help complete sets.  I picked up the Stadium Club cards last week when I was working to complete the 1994 Topps set.

I also appreciate Mark helping me with this set.  He also was very nice to help with the 1994 set.

Set Needs Care Package From Mark

I got a care package in the mail the other day from blog reader, Mark M. who had a few 1969 Topps and 2015 Stadium Club for my sets.  Mark had commented on one of my Stadium Club posts recently, and was able to help me knock a few cards out of each want list.

Mark sent along 10 1969 Topps that I needed.  The cards were in decent enough shape for me to be able to cross them off of the list, just in time for the National.  I doubt I will pursue completing this set while at the show.  Completing the 1959 set last year was an expensive endeavor.  I may grab a few, though, enough to make a dent, I think.
Mark sent me three 2015 Stadium Club cards to cross off.  I do intend to finish this at the show.  I really want to put it behind me and move on to a more recent set.  I am excited to complete this one, since it is in an album.  I already enjoy flipping through it and looking at all of the photography.

Thank you so much for the cards, Mark!

More Stadium Club For The Set

I was out of town the last couple of days doing some training for work.  While I was heading out of town from the corporate office, I stopped by AAA Collectibles in Matthews, NC.  I used to go there a lot before I moved away from Charlotte, but since then, I have only been back a couple times.  The lady who co-owns the shop remembered me right away, which was nice.

I picked up a few things while I was there.  I got 19 cards for my Stadium Club set, which really helps me out.  That gives me less to look for next week at the National.  It's funny, some of the cards I needed were Orioles.  I have the above Chris Davis, but I got it for my PC before I decided to complete the set.

I'm not too far away from finishing the set now, which is nice.  I'll be glad to finish it up and put the album on the shelf.

Some Stadium Club For The Set

I got a surprise email recently from fellow blogger, Chris, from the blog "Nachos Grande".  He had a few 2015 Stadium Club for my set.  I really appreciated him sending them along, because these cards are beginning to be harder and harder to find.

One question I had for myself, though, was "Don't I already have this Frank Robinson?"  If I do, it is likely in my Orioles box somewhere.  Maybe it made its way in there before I decided to do this set.  Oh well.  The 7 cards that Chris sent along will help me fill some holes in the Stadium Club binder.  Maybe I can complete this set at the National?

Set Needs Care Package From JediJeff

I got a surprise email the other day from fellow blogger, JediJeff.  He informed me that he had a few cards I needed for some sets, and that he wanted to send them my way.  This was really awesome of him, and like I said, totally unexpected.

Jeff included two cards I needed for my 2015 Stadium Club set, one of which is this angry-looking Albert Belle.  I wouldn't go trick-or-treating at his house (look the story up), but man he could hit a baseball a long way.
Jeff also included 6 2013 Topps emerald parallels for that set.  I have added a couple here and there, but am still at a really slow pace on this set.  I need to knock a bunch out via a big sportlots purchase, but I just haven't gotten around to it.  Maybe sometime soon, I will hit this set a lot harder than I have been.

Thank you so much for the care package, Jeff!  I really appreciate it!  Give his blog a follow, if you don't already.  You can check it out here.

Thoughts on 2015 Topps Stadium Club

I would like to start off by wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July.  I am going to catch a baseball game and some fireworks tonight, if the weather holds out.

I busted a box of 2015 Topps Stadium Club last weekend and I was really impressed.  As always, the photos in Stadium Club were amazing.  My favorite card of the whole bunch was this one of the late Ernie Banks receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom in November 2013.  I feel like this is a fitting card for Banks, who passed away earlier this year.
There are quite a few great shots of Orioles in the set, like this Zach Britton from last year's playoffs.
Here is a great pie face card of Adam Jones.
Finally, here is an amazing shot of Oriole legend and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken doing what he always did best, signing autographs.  I ended up with two of these, so that takes care of putting something new into my Cal Ripken PC.

I may actually pursue the set this year.  I already have a good start, and these cards would look awesome in a binder.  While I don't like putting my sets in binders, this one would be worth it.  They would display far better in flippable sheets than stored in a box.
