Another TTM Success From Matt Williams

Another TTM success came back from Matt Williams after I waited a long time for him to get on with another team here stateside.  I had this 1995 Leaf Slideshow insert that I really wanted to get signed, and my patience paid off.  The card looks really cool, and has a nice place in my album.
I still have very few 1994 Topps in the album, so I kept this one with the Slideshow card so I could send it along.  It turned out great, as well.
Finally, here ae two other nice cards that I sent along.  A 1991 Upper Deck checklist and a 1997 Upper Deck SP.

I mailed to Williams on March 11, via Padres camp and got the cards back on March 24, for a 13-day TAT.

TTM Success - Paul Wagner

There were a bunch of Paul Wagner cards in my TTM box.  He signs a lot, so I went ahead and sent 7 cards, since I couldn't decide on ones to hold back.  I don't mind if a player decides to not sign something I send, so I didn't see much of an issue with sending 7 cards.  That is the max I would send, though, in case someone was wondering.
The cards I sent all turned out great. They'll look good in my autograph album, especially the 1991 Carolina League All Star card.

Wagner (b. 1967) played in the majors from 1992 to 1999 for the Pirates, Brewers and Indians.  He had a record of 29-45 with 452 strike outs and a 4.83 ERA.

I mailed to Wagner on May 10 and got the cards back on June 15, for a 36-day TAT.

TTM Success - Chad Curtis

More mid-90s junk was era cards have been removed from my boxes and transferred to my autograph album with this TTM success from Chad Curtis.  He signed my 1996 Pinnacle, which came from a wax box that I busted way back when I was in Illinois for Andrew's graduation (seems like a long time ago, now).
I also got a 1995 Collectors Choice SE and a 1995 Leaf signed.  I busted a lot of 1995 Leaf while searching for Statistical Standouts inserts, and still find the loose cards among stuff here at the house.

Curtis (b. 1968) played in the majors from 1992 to 2001 for the Angels, Tigers, Dodgers, Indians, Yankees and Rangers.  He had 1,061 hits, 101 home runs and a .264 batting average.  He won the World Series 1998 and 1999 with the Yankees.

I mailed to Curtis on May 10 and got the cards back on May 22, for a 12-day TAT.  He signed 3 of 5, keeping 2 of the other cards.

2021 National Free Signer - Brian McRae

Brian McRae was one of the few free signers at the National this year who I hadn't gotten TTM, or at past Nationals.  He was pretty nice, and I had to ask him about his dad, Hal McRae.  I have needed Hal for my 87 set, but have struck out so far.  Brian said his dad doesn't sign much, and I left it at that.

The above 1993 Stadium Club turned out great.  When I had only one voucher, this was the card that I absolutely wanted to get signed.  It turned out really well, and I was able to find a few more vouchers, so I got some other cards signed as well.
I believe I am out of McRae cards in my boxes, now that I got all of these done.  I could be (and probably am) wrong, however.  He signed a 1991 Fleer, 1992 Pinnacle, 1991 Upper Deck and a 1992 Donruss.
Finally, I got this 1995 Leaf signed.  These cards were some of my favorites to open in the parking lot of the card shop back then with my mom.  They turn out really well when signed, and the set had some really great inserts.  The only drawback was that they, like most 90s cards, were over-glossed and tend to stick together and become bricked after a while.  Don't store your cards in an attic, boys and girls.

McRae (b. 1967) played in the majors from 1990 to 1999 for the Royals, Cubs, Mets, Rockies and Blue Jays.  He had 1,336 hits, 103 home runs and a .261 batting average.

TTM Success - Rheal Cormier

It is kind of fun when a player covers a wide range of years and cards.  It also can be a pain, because that means I have to go through a ton of boxes to get a representative sampling of cards to choose from to send TTM.  I was able to get a bunch of cards out of my boxes of Rheal Cormier to send out (and I'm still finding some).  I needed more 1994 Topps in my autograph album, so this one was an easy choice to send out.

I also sent a 1993 and 2006 Topps (top row above) and 1994 and 1995 Leaf (bottom row, right to left).

Cormier (b. 1967) played in the majors from 1991 to 1997 and 1999 to 2007 for the Cardinals, Red Sox, Expos, Phillies and Reds.  He had a career record of 71-64 with 760 strike outs and a 4.03 ERA.

I mailed to Cormier on July 31 and got the cards back on August 10, for a 10-day TAT.

TTM Success - Brent Mayne

Here is a TTM success that took a while to come in.  I like the cards that I got back, even though I didn't get everything back that I had sent out.

I now have a couple signed 1992 Studio in my album.  Studio was always a nice product to open, and now they are really nice cards to get signed.
I also liked the 1995 Leaf set.  I opened a ton of it to try to get the Cal Ripken Statistical Standouts, and now I am able to get a few of the cards from that set signed and added to my album.  It's nice to get some of them out of my boxes and into my albums (and onto my blog).

I don't have a lot of bulk 1991 Topps for some odd reason.  I have come across several cheap boxes of it, but for whatever reason, the bulk stuff left over always disappears or ends up with someone else.  I think the last box I busted was during pack wars with Andrew, and I think his little brother ended up with a lot of the base.

Mayne (b. 1968) played in the majors from 1990 to 2004 for the Royals, Mets, A's Giants, Rockies, Diamondbacks and Dodgers.  He had 951 hits, 38 home runs and a .263 batting average.

I mailed to Mayne on March 23 and got the cards back on July 28, for a 127-day TAT.  He kept three of the cards I sent.
