Blogging on Location - Wrestlemania 27

The pictures don't begin to do it justice, but we had a blast at Wrestlemania 27, in Atlanta. The place was packed (71, 617 people), and the show was great.

I took pictures of what was on the video screens instead of the actual ring because it was so far away. I think it ended up working out. Here you can see CM Punk taunting Randy Orton. Punk would end up losing, though, but it was a decent match.

It never gets old seeing Stone Cold give someone the Stunner. Here, you can see him delivering one to Booker T.

After a grueling match against my favorite wrestler, HHH, Undertaker raised his Wrestlemania record to 19-0.

Finally, the Miz won the main event over John Cena. I can't stand Cena, so I was happy to see him lose.

I'd write more, but we are exhausted. We had a great time, though, and the most important thing is that my son, Christopher, had a blast. He really had a great time and thanked me several times for bringing him... That made the whole trip worthwhile.

Blogging On Location - Wrestlemania Axxess

I'm back with another Blog on Location. This time, we are in Atlanta for Wrestlemania 27. We paid for the 8AM - 12PM session of Wrestlemania Axxess. I couldn't get tickets for the VIP session because they had sold out, but we got general admission and still were able to meet a bunch of people.
Our first superstar signing was Great Khali and JTG. I had completely forgotten that JTG was still on the WWE roster (sorry man), but we were excited to meet Khali, who is considered an icon in India. His hands were freaking huge.

Vickie Guerrero immediate took to Chris when he walked up. She loved his smile and commented on how cute he was. I didn't know what to think of meeting her because she plays such a good 'heel' persona, but you could tell she was having a blast. She was very friendly, engaging, and we had a nice time talking with her. I gained a whole new respect for her, almost immediately.
LayCool (Michelle McCool and Layla) are probably my least favorite group right now in wrestling. However, when they saw Chris, they both fell in love with him too. They signed autographs for him and grabbed him to take a picture. They were really nice, also. I'm still going to boo them tomorrow, but I know that in person, they are nice people.
I've watched Kane on TV since 1998, so it was pretty cool to meet and speak with him. He said he was really tired from a long night before, so that's why he looks less than thrilled to be posing for pictures. Even though, Kane smiling would definitely be out of character for him.
It was really cool to meet Goldust. He plays a weirdo on tv, but was really cool in person. He made goofy noises to Christopher, and Chris was really excited to meet him.
Goldust also posed with me, which was cool. It was awesome to meet the 'Son of The Dream' (Dusty Rhodes is his dad).
My wife freaked out when she saw that we could meet William Regal. He has been her favorite since she started watching with me around 2000. She actually teared up a little cause she was so excited. I was happy to meet him too. I talked to him for a bit about how long I've been watching him, since 1998 when he was 'the Man's man - Steven Regal.' He told me that that was six weeks of his life that he wished he could have back.
We are hanging out in the hotel room now, and will go down to the lobby tonight for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Hopefully we will bump into some more wrestlers tonight.

Busy Weekend Ahead

As I sit on my friend Vinny's couch, waiting for him to get back from work, I am sitting here thinking about everything that I have coming up this weekend.

I took today through next Friday off of work. This evening, we will leave my friend's house (in the Charlotte area) and head to Atlanta. Vinny, his son Dylan, my wife, my son and I are all cramming into the Cobalt to make the 4+ hour drive. The reason we are going is because I bought tickets to Wrestlemania 27!

On the way to Atlanta tonight, at 7:10, everyone in the car will have to be quiet because I will be turning my XM radio to the Orioles-Rays game. Jeremy Guthrie vs. David Price. I hope the O's get off to a better start than they did last year.

On the way here from Greenville last night, I heard on XM that Oriole great Brooks Robinson was hospitalized with a fever and infection prior to an outpatiend procedure that he had scheduled. I almost swerved off of the road when I heard the headline. Not good. He posted a statement on MASNSports.com saying that he is responding well to antibiotics and should be fine. Whew.

Tomorrow morning, I will be taking Chris to the 8AM session of Wrestlemania Axxess. I'm hoping he can get his picture taken with at least one of the wrestlers that he watches on TV every Monday night. I've got my fingers crossed.

Sunday at 7, we will be at Wrestlemania! This is the closest WWE's biggest event has ever come to the NC area, so I couldn't pass up a chance to go. When I found out that the tickets were only $25, I jumped at the chance to go. Along with the menagerie riding with me, our good friend, the wonderful Babe-O-Licious will be meeting us in Atlanta and will be with us at the event. We are definitely guaranteed to have a good time.

On Monday, after we drop Vinny and Dylan off, we have to make a detour to Winston-Salem to meet my boss, Justin, at my brother's house. There, we will be loading up all the stuff my brother had stored for us for the move to Winterville.

On Tuesday, we will be closing on our house! We sold our previous house in December 2009, after living there for almost 7 years. Downgrading from a 3 bedroom, 2-story house into a 2-bedroom apartment has been rough. It has been especially hard on our marraige, but we haven't smothered each other with pillows, so I think if we make it til Tuesday without shaving off each other's eyebrows while they sleep; I think we will have done well.

Finally, the rest of the week will be spent unloading, unpacking, calling utility companies, painting, making trips to Lowes and Home Depot, etc etc.

It definitely will be an interesting week. You may want to check in and make sure I have survived.

Wrestlemania is Heeeere...

Not the best picture, but it is of HHH when we went to RAW in November 2007... I have a busy weekend planned, and this is following the awesome time I had hanging out with my best buddy Max this week as well. Went to Piedmont Dragway today and watched Dad do a burnout and then get pushed back off of the track due to water leaking from the car onto the track. When they got back to the trailer, they found that a push rod in the engine was broken, so their weekend was over.

Mike is coming over tonight so we can watch Stone Cold get inducted into the WWE hall of fame. Good times.

Tomorrow, we will have pretty much an all day long get together celebrating the 24th anniversary of Wrestlemania (for some dumbass reason, WWE is billing it as the 25th anniversary, you don't celebrate your first wedding anniversary the day you get married do you?). I hope everyone enjoys themselves tomorrow, I know I will! If you would like to attend, call my cell!
