Perez was really cool when we met him. He smiled the whole time and reached his hand out when he was done signing. I shook hands with Hall of Famer, Tony Perez. What a nice guy.

2025 National Paid Signer - Tony Perez
Next up is one of the paid signers I signed up for at this year's National. When I saw Tony Perez on the list, I knew I wanted to sign up for him. I had this 2004 Topps Tribute that I wanted to get signed, so that's was the card I brought with me to the show.

Another TTM Success From Tony Perez
Finally some of the cards from private signings that I signed up for from September to November are coming in. For one reason or another four or five of the signings have all been delayed. One of them, the above card from Tony Perez, finally came in the other day.
I wanted to complete this 2010 Topps Reds Franchise History card after I got it signed by Johnny Bench last August. The signing with Perez came up soon after, and now that the card is complete, it was well worth the wait.
I sent the card off on November 17 and got the card back on March 2, for a 106-day TAT. I paid a fee of $40 to complete the card.

Another TTM Success From Tony Perez
A nice completion happened recently when I got this 1976 Topps NL RBI leaders card back from a private signing with Tony Perez. I had gotten Greg Luzinski at a National and Johnny Bench at one of the Hope For The Warriors signings a couple years ago.
I am really happy the card got completed. It looks really cool.
I sent to the Perez signing on March 9 and got the card back on April 10, for a 32-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tony Perez
When I saw that there was a private signing with Hall of Famer Tony Perez, I wanted to make sure that I got this 1978 Topps signed. The card, to me, is iconic. The Hall of Fame player, at the end of his career with an unfamiliar team; this is one of those cards that I feel speaks volumes.
I sent the card off for the private signing on March 5 and got the card back on May 28, for an 84-day TAT. I paid a fee of $30.00.

More From The Card Show - Tony Perez Signed Baseball
So, while I was purchasing my Luis Aparicio ball at the show, I saw that the vendor had a good many other Hall of Famers at really good prices, so I swung a trade for another Hall of Famer that I didn't already have, Tony Perez.
I traded a 2011 Topps Starlin Castro auto, a Sweet Spot Classic glove auto of Toby Harrah and a Shane Victorino Topps auto. I had no problem with this trade, since I needed Perez (and he doesn't really sign TTM).
I have a few members of The Big Red Machine, now, with Perez, Pete Rose and Johnny Bench.
Perez (b. 1942) played in the majors from 1964 to 1986 for the Reds, Expos, Red Sox and Phillies. He had 2,732 hits, 379 home runs and a .279 career batting average. He won the World Series in 1975 and 1976 while with the Reds.
He is my 57th Hall of Famer.

Some More Sportlots Pickups
I was bored the other night, so I checked out Sportlots and knocked a few more cards off of my want list for 1970 and 1971 Topps...
I knocked 4 high numbers off of my 1970 Topps set. One of which is the above Frank Lucchesi. I'm winding down on this set, but all that are left are high numbers. This is still going to take a while, but it is nice to begin seeing a light at the end of the tunnel...
I knocked off 10 more 1971 Topps. A few were the leaders cards like the NL Batting leaders card above featuring Rico Carty, Joe Torre and Manny Sanguillen.
Spaceman, spin the black circle... Ahhh, Bill "Spaceman" Lee's crazy a$$. Have you ever seen him on Ken Burns' Baseball? Yeah, I think he is completely nuts, but he is always fun to listen to when he gives interviews.
3 Hall of Famers on this NL Strikeout Leaders card. Not too bad, if you ask me.
Ooh, look, 3 more Hall of Famers, I did pretty well, plus I also knocked off 7 1963 Fleer for a friend of mine who is completing that set, so all in all, it was a good mail day for me.
