TTM Success - Mark Teixeira

This TTM success I got back from Mark Teixeira was a big one.  I was glad to get my 2015 Topps purple parallel back signed.  It turned out great.

Teixeira (b. 1980) played in the majors from 2003 to 2016 for the Rangers, Braves, Angels and Yankees.  He had 1,862 hits, 409 home runs and a .268 batting average.  He was an All Star in 2005, 2009 and 2015.  He finished second in the AL MVP race in 2009 when he led the league in homers (39) and RBIs (122). Joe Mauer won the award that year.

Teixeira was a five-time Gold Glove Award winner and a three-time Silver Slugger.  He won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009.  He appeared on the 2022 Hall of Fame ballot, but received only 1.5% of the vote.  

I still haven't forgiven him for teasing us Orioles fans with the thought that he would sign with the O's, only to become a Don Mattingly fan overnight and sign that big deal with the Yankees. 

I mailed to Teixeira via ESPN on October 11, 2022, and got the card back signed on March 23, 2023, for a 163-day TAT.

I Am Now Live on COMC

I now have 50 cards listed on Checkoutmycards.com in an attempt to flip some stuff that has been languishing in my box for some money or other cards.

Ryan from O No Another Orioles Blog talked me into giving COMC a shot, and gave me a coupon from the National Card Show for $20 off first time seller fees.

It was interesting getting stuff submitted to them, and surprisingly easy.  They scan everything and give you BV for each card (if available).  You then tell them what you want to list your card at and wait for offers.

The stuff I submitted was some higher end oddball stuff like a 1/1 Nate McLouth sketch card, a couple 2011 Topps Sparkle Cards, a nice 2007 Topps Turkey Red Justin Verlander silk, a couple printing plates, etc.

We'll see if I get any offers, but I am excited to see how all of this plays out.  Here's to hoping I can flip some of that stuff for a few signed baseballs or something.

New For Sale-Trade Page

I have decided to add a For Sale/Trade page to my blog in hopes to get some of the things I have for sale at card shows out so more people can see them.

It is hard sometimes to go through all the cards I have, price and label them so that people walking by my booth at shows can see everything.  I also have learned recently that it is really convenient to be able to trade a big hit for a Hall of Fame ball (like I was able to do with my Pujols triple relic/auto for the Mazeroski and Drysdale balls).

I won't refuse reasonable offers, but please, don't do me like the people on the Topps Diamond Giveaway are doing...  don't offer me a 1995 Topps Mike Macfarlane for an auto or something like that.
