New For Trade

I just completed a trade with a fellow blogger (which I will detail when my end of the trade comes in), but in order to do so, I had to scan several of my autographed cards that I had available.  Well, of the 10 cards I scanned, he took 6, so I had four cards left over that I had scanned.
This serves as an added benefit for the trade.  I now have 4 autographed cards that I scanned (and pulled out of the recesses of my sale box) that I can post on my trade page and blog to gauge interest and try to flip for other things.  I meant to do that....  Yeah, ok, right.
So, these have been added to my Trade Page, which you can click on just below my blog banner.  You can see it.  Go ahead, click on it.
If anyone is interested in any of these, please let me know and we can try to work out a deal.  If I can move these, maybe I'll continue to dip into this stack of autos I have and keep this a regular thing.  I have to see folks showing interest, though.

2012 Topps Series One - The Hits

I busted my 3 jumbo boxes of 2012 Topps Series One tonight and here are the hits I pulled:
Out of the three boxes, I got only one Black Parallel.  Luckily, it was an Oriole!  I'm very glad to have pulled this Matusz, even though, I would have loved a Nolan Reimold.
I got three jersey relics.  This Travis Wood which is up for trade.
I got this Dan Uggla, which is my first piece of lersey with dirt on it!  I don't think I'll be trading this just yet.
I got this Justin Verlander jersey which has already been claimed by Dustin for trade.
I got three autographs, all of which are for trade.  Gordon Beckham.
 Madison Bumgarner

Johnny Cueto
I thought the manufactured patches have outlived their usefulness so I was pleased to see something different this year, the retired rings series.  This Frank Robinson is the first I pulled, which I would be willing to trade for an Orioles ring, if anyone has one.
In my second box, I got this Hank Aaron ring.  This one I will not be trading.
Finally, out of my third box, I got this Johnny Bench Golden Pin.  I really really really like this card.  I would consider trading it if there is a Brooks Robinson or Cal Ripken one.  Otherwise, I'm glad to have it in my collection.

What do you all think?  The relics and autos are kinda same old same old, except for the Uggla which had dirt and the Verlander, who is a marquee player, the others are kinda bleh to me.  Good trade bait, I suppose.  I really like the rings and pins.  Definitely an upgrade from last years leather nameplates.

Stay tuned as I run through some of the inserts I pulled.

A couple great cards

I opened a couple packs recently, and pulled some nice stuff: Pretty sweet JOHNNY Cueto card. SWEEP THE LEG!!! Oh wait. We did that already. Anyway, yeah, got me another 'Johnny' card. That makes my third Johnny Cueto auto. Not bad. Too bad Im not a Reds fan.

Ah, Ron Santo. I really like the jersey swatch here. Nice colors. Santo was a damn fine ballplayer. He is also fun to listen to on the Cubs broadcasts as he lives and dies by each and every event in the game. Its nice to hear that kind of passion from a team's announcer and not have to sit through a bunch of awful catchphrases.

I don't think I can stand any more 'Tex Messages,' 'Abombs from Arod,' 'Cano Doncha Know,' Yeah I hope John Sterling can go back to calling tractor pulls. He is awful. Whenever the Orioles play the Yankees, I make sure I am listening to the Os announcers, or I just don't listen because the Yankees announcers SUCK!

Two words: VIN SCULLY!!!!! He is how a game should be called. Or Bob Uecker.

Whew, got a little off topic right there. Have a good night guys. I got one more card scanned that I want to blog this weekend. Will get to it tomorrow night or Sunday morning.

2009 Topps Heritage

I picked up a few packs of 2009 Topps Heritage today. I like the design, the 1960 set is a good one. The thing that sucks is, I bought 4 packs and didn't get a single Oriole. Oh well. I'm not going to work on ths set yet, I think the first Heritage Set I do will be either the 1955 or 1957 designs... We'll see later on...

A post for P.A.

P.A. I promised you, and I finally have delivered: my 2008 SP Authentic Johnny Cueto Auto....

I love this one because he signed it 'Johnny.' Kinda makes you feel a little special that he thinks you are on a first name basis with him.
