1951 Topps Red Back #7 - Howie Pollet

Howie Pollet (b. 1921 - d. 1974) played in the majors from 1941 to 1943, 1946 to 1956 for the Cardinals, Pirates, Cubs and White Sox.  He had a career record of 131-116, 3.51 ERA and 934 strikeouts.  He was a 3-time All Star and finished as high as 4th in the NL MVP voting in 1946 when he went 21-10 with a league leading 2.10 ERA.

He won 2 World Series with the Cardinals in 1942 and 1946.

1955 Topps #76 - Howie Pollet


Howie Pollet (b. 1921 - d. 1974) played in the majors from 1941-1943, 1946-1956 for the Cardinals, Pirates, Cubs and White Sox. He was the NL ERA leader in 1943 and 1946. He was a 20-game winner in 1946 and 1949. He won the World Series with the Cardinals in 1942 and 1946. He retired in 1956 with a record of 131-116, an ERA of 3.51 and 934 strikeouts.
