More Dontrelles From Jackson

My friend, Jackson, had some more Dontrelle Willis cards available, so I picked some up that I thought would look cool in my album.  I opened a lot of 2006 Fleer Tradition back when it came out, but have unloaded a bunch of it.  So, I hardly have any left that I could sent out for TTMs.  The cards aren't really all that special, with the exception that they are pretty colorful.
I liked both of these horizontal cards of Willis, so I made sure to pick them up, as well.

Jackson has a ton of these left over, so if anyone wants to buy a few off of him, I know he would appreciate it.  If you are interested, please comment with your email address or a social media platform so I can put you in touch with him.  By the way, if you have been reading this blog for a while, you'll know that I don't have a way to respond to your comments if you don't put an email address or some other contact info.  So, if you have commented in the past with a question and haven't heard from me, that's why!

Some Great Signed Cards From Jackson

My friend Jackson, in Arizona, took a 50/50 for me and also sold me a signed card.  The card he sold was the 2004 Cracker Jack Dotrelle Willis shown above.  I really like the Cracker Jack set, and have contemplated picking up a box.  The cards look great when signed.  Jackson did a private signing with Willis, which I missed.  Thankfully, he had some extras, and I picked this beauty up.
Jackson also sees Will Morris and Harvey Monte locally over there, so he got some cards out of my boxes and had them signed for me.  We split the Morris cards, and since I had only one Monte, he gave me that one.

I was afraid that I wouldn't have any Monte, but I had the single card in my "rookies" box, so it was good to get that one out.

Thanks so much for taking the cards and selling me the Willis, Jackson!

Care Package From Micah

I got a surprise care package in the other day from my little buddy from Instagram, Micah.  He sent the package as a birthday gift to my son, Chris, since they talk some on Instagram.  Micah had included some stuff in the package for me, as well.  The abve Alonzo Powell signed Stadium Club was one of the cards.
Micah also included one of his own cards, signed.  I think this card of him is from several years ago, since he looks so young in the photo.  I actually enjoy it when the folks I trade with include their own cards.  One of them is bound to hit it big, right?
Another of the cards he included in the package was this nice Bowman Sterling Dontrelle Willis relic.  I met Willis a few years ago at the National Card Show.  He was really nice in person, and I wouldn't mind meeting him again.

Thank you so much for the care package, Micah!

Another Trade With Michael

One of the many perks of having this blog is that it has helped me make some friends among fellow collectors.  One person I have met recently is a guy named Michael, whom I traded with at Fan Fest in January.  Michael had his eyes on some of the signed post cards as well as a few game used baseballs I picked up while at Fan Fest.  In return for some of the post cards, Michael sent me the above Dontrelle Willis signed baseball.  I had a chance to get Willis a couple years ago off of Ebay for $0.99, but I drug my feet and missed out.  Dang.  Oh well, I have him now.  I was always a fan of Willis and I hate to see that his career has been derailed like it has.
Another ball I got from Michael was this Mark Reynolds signed ball.  I hate that Reynolds left the O's to sign with Cleveland, but I feel like losing his 200+ strikeouts paired with a returning Nolan Reimold makes his loss not as bad.  Especially if Nolan can hit the 30+ homers and drive in 100 like I feel he  is capable; All while batting 50-60 points higher than Reynolds.  Anyway, I still like Reynolds and am happy to add his auto to my collection.
Michael also threw in some signed tickets that he had, the above Darren O'Day and the below Johnny Damon.  O'Day is probably my favorite reliever on the O's right now, and Damon, well, he is just a great player, even though he isn't an Oriole.
Thanks for the trade, Michael!  I am amazed at the awesome O's stuff you have and I hope we can match up again on a trade!
