TTM Success - Brandon Cunniff

This 2015 Topps Update of Brandon Cunniff is a fairly recent card that I was able to get signed TTM. 2015 Topps was such a cool set. I know a couple people who are working on signed sets from that year; I can't do it, since I am working on 1987 still.

Cunniff (b. 1988) played in the majors in 2015 and 2016 for the Braves. He had a record of  4-2 with 53 strike outs and a 4.50 ERA.

I mailed to Cunniff on December 19 and got the card back on January 6, for an 18-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mitch Harris

A 2015 Topps Update of Mitch Harris was rescued from my Topps box during a recent pass through my boxes. I was trying to find some recent cards to send out, and I saw that Harris signed pretty regularly. He signed my card in blue Sharpie.

Harris (b. 1985) played in the majors in 2015 for the Cardinals. He had a record of 2-1 with 15 strike outs and a 3.67 ERA.

I mailed to Harris on November 19 and got the card back on December 30, for a 41-day TAT.

TTM Success - Tyler Wilson

Here is a nice 2015 Topps Update that I got signed TTM by former Oriole, Tyler Wilson.  The Virginia native wasn't an Oriole for long, but I met him a couple of times.  He was a really nice guy.

Wilson (b. 1989) played in the majors from 2015 to 2017 for the Orioles.  He had a record of 8-10 with 77 strike outs and a 5.02 ERA.  I mailed to Wilson on March 7 and got the card back on March 15, for an 8-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ryan O'Rourke

Here are a couple cards that came out of my Box of Shame from way back when I missed Ryan O'Rourke while he was with the Orioles.  I like being able to move a few of these cards out, because for sure, I will miss folks this year.  Moving these older cards makes room for new stuff and keeps me on my toes to try to find some new guys to mail to.
O'Rourke (b. 1988) played in the majors in 2015, 2016 and 2019 for the Twins and Mets.  He had a record of 0-1 with 49 strike outs and a 4.84 ERA.

I mailed to O'Rourke on February 9 and got the cards back on March 19, for a 38-day TAT.

Some Juan Uribe Signed Cards From Max

Max hit me up recently for an assortment of former and current players to find in my boxes for upcoming signings.  One of them was Juan Uribe.  I found him a bunch of cards, and he sent me a few back for my efforts, which I always appreciate.
In return, I got the 2015 Topps Update at the top of the post, and the above 2012 Topps and 2013 Topps Update.

Uribe (b. 1979) played in the majors from 2001 to 2016 for the Rockies, White Sox, Giants, Dodgers, Braves, Mets and Indians.  He had 1,568 hits, 199 home runs and a .255 batting average.  He won the World Series in 2005 with the White Sox and in 2010 with the Giants.

I love doing these player card searches for Max, and I'd like to take on a few more from some other folks, so that may be something that ends up happening.  Thanks, Max!

TTM Success - JR Graham

Here are a few cards that I got back TTM from JR Graham.  I had a bunch of his 2012 Topps Heritage Minors, so a few of my friends got some in some TTM starter packs, after my success from Graham came in.  This was a great design, based off of 1963 Topps.
I also got Graham to sign a 2011 Playoff Contenders Draft Ticket and a 2015 Topps Update.

Graham (b. 1990) played in the majors in 2015 and 2016 for the Twins.  He had a record of 1-1 with 55 strike outs and a 5.10 ERA.

I mailed to Graham on August 31 and got the cards back on January 9, for a 131-day TAT.

TTM Success - Dusty Coleman

I got a few more cards out of my older Bowman box recently when I got these cards signed by Dusty Coleman.  The above 2008 Bowman gold turned out really well.  I don't have many 08 Bowmans in my album, so it was nice to add this one.
He also signed a 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition (above left) and a 2008 Razor (above right).  I remember when Razor was a thing, and they had Matt Wieters signed to an exclusive contract.  That's why I have so many 08 Razor cards in the box.  I'm glad I got one signed, and it turned out really well.
Finally, I got this dual 2015 Topps Update signed that I had previously had signed by Rey Navarro.  I think Chris and I saw Navarro at an Independent League game last season.  I may have another of these signed by Navarro, so I probably should see about getting Coleman on it as well.

Coleman (b. 1987) played in the majors in 2015 and 2017 for the Royals and Padres.  He had 15 hits, 4 home runs and a .211 batting average.

I mailed to Coleman on June 8 and got the cards back on June 20, for a 12-day TAT.

TTM Success - Matt Andriese

I added two recent cards to my autograph album with this TTM success from Matt Andriese.  The above 2016 Topps Update is actually a rainbow parallel, but the scan didn't really pick it up.  Still, it looks really cool.
Then, I got this 2015 Topps Update, which also turned out well.

Andriese (b. 1989) has played in the majors since 2015 for the Rays and diamondbacks.  He has a career record of 24-30 with 391 strike outs and a 4.58 ERA.

I mailed to Andriese on January 2 and got the cards back on January 24, for a 22-day TAT.

Instagram Trade With Dugan

Actually, two trades were completed with Dugan, but who's counting?  Certainly not me, because I had to message him and ask him what I even sent because I forgot.  I also forgot that the main pieces I traded for were ones that immediately went to other people.  However, I'm getting way ahead of myself.

I met Dugan on Instagram a couple months ago, and it turns out, he is another collector from NC.  He came to the last card show that I was at, and we chatted for quite a while.  He's a pretty nice guy, and really easy to trade with.

I sent him a couple chrome autos, and he hooked me up with a few cards, like I said, that went to other folks.  He did, however, send me some extras in the form of a few rookie cards from 2015 Update.

I got this nice Correa RC and a Bryant from update that I will topload and put in my RC box.  I was hoping that Dugan would be at this weekend's show, but he is unfortunately not able to make it.  Better luck next time.  Thanks for the trades, Dugan.

Christmas Gift From Tim

I got a package in the mail a couple weeks ago from my friend and fellow blogger, Tim (from the blog - I Love The Smell of Cardboard in the Morning).  In it was a bunch of Orioles cards that I needed for various PCs.  The above Chris Davis from 2015 Topps Archives is definitely one I needed and it numbered 2/50.
I really like this Darren O'Day gold from 201 Update.  This might be one of my favorite shots on an Oriole card in all of the products that came out of 2015.  O'Day was an unlikely All Star, as closers are typically the only relievers chosen for the game.  The fact that it shows all of the Oriole All Stars from 2015 is really cool, too.
Finally, Tim included a card that I needed for the 2013 Topps Emerald set.  I haven't been picking up any of these lately, so it was nice to be able to knock something off of my list.

Thank you so much for the package, Tim!  I hope to see you at this weekend's card show in Raleigh!

Instagram Trade With Alexander

I completed a trade last month with a guy from Instagram named Alex.  I sent him something that I can't quite remember (I think it was a Bowman Sterling auto) in exchange for this awesome Jonathan Schoop auto from 2014 Inception.  Inception is such a good product, but the Orioles haven't really had a whole lot of major prospects come through that set, with the exception of Schoop, Hunter Harvey and Christian Walker.  I'm hoping the Orioles recent draft picks start to show up in products like this.  Also, I can't wait to see stuff of Trey Mancini and Chance Sisco in this stuff as well,
Alexander included some extras in the package as well.  They were a few Orioles cards, but the most notable was this Jimmy Paredes sparkle chrome from Topps Update.  I wish Chris Davis had one of these this year, because I would be all over it!  This card just looks so cool.  It's too bad Paredes tailed off after the All Star break, because he was on pace to have a pretty special year last year.  I hope he can bounce back.  We'll see though.

Thanks for the deal, Alexander!  I wish I could remember what I sent, but I'm sure you were happy with it.

Thoughts on 2015 Topps Update

I busted a jumbo box of 2015 Topps Update when it first came out.  The contents of the box weren't really much to be excited about, but the set is pretty nice.  I don't believe I will be putting the set together.  Also, the Orioles in the series are only OK.  I mean, there are All Star cards, and all, but the only Oriole I was really excited to see in the set was Tyler Wilson.  I did pull his base card, so that was nice.  The Darren O'Day card was a good one, too.  I might pick up some of the different versions of it.

As always, there are some really good photographic shots in this set, as seen in the Joey Gallo rookie debut card above.  I think these Gatorade shower cards are really cool.

I was pretty happy with my Update box.  I got the Nolan Ryan manufactured coin card, which is in a pending trade.  I got an auto of Jason Rogers (never heard of him), but it is sold to my friend, Bryce.  I also got a Paul Goldschmidt All Star relic card that I plan on hanging onto for the time being.  I did get a SP card, the sabermetric stats Gerrit Cole.  Not bad.
