I got an email well before I went on vacation from fellow blogger, Matt, from the blog: Bob Walk The Plank. It has taken me quite a while to get caught up on trades and Ebay purchases, and I have finally gotten around to posting what I got from Matt.
Matt sent this awesome Nick Markakis Gypsy Queen relic along with some 2013 emerald parallels. In return I sent Matt some vintage Pirates cards. I really appreciated the trade, Matt and I hope we can do it again.

Trading Again With Ken
I got a trade package in the mail last week from blogger, Ken, who hasn't posted much lately due to some health problems. I have checked in on him lately to make sure he is doing ok (he seems to be) and I have sent him some Indians cards to keep him in cards while he has been holed up at home. In return, Ken recently sent me a stack of Orioles cards, featuring the above Chris Davis Gypsy Queen White Paper parallel. This is a really awesome card and with as great as Davis has been lately, I am really happy to have it.
If you haven't had a chance, head over and take a look at Ken's blog. Maybe he will be able to post again soon!

Visit From Scott - Gypsy Queen Box Break
Yesterday was a really good day. I was able to spend the day with my very good friend, Scott and his Dad since Scott and I both mistakenly thought the Raleigh card show was this weekend. We had planned to meet up at the show, hang out as long as possible and then grab dinner afterward. Since we realized that we had the wrong weekend for the show, and since both of us would be unable to attend next weekend, we decided to meet up here at my house.
Scott and his dad rolled in about a quarter to 11 in the morning, just in time to grab some lunch in downtown Greenville. After lunch, Scott, his dad, Chris and I all did a tour of the two card shops in the area. At the first card shop, in Kinston, Scott and I decided to go halves on a box so we would have something to bust when we got back to the house.
When we got back home, we split the box evenly and started ripping packs. Both of us made out with our packs as each got a relic and auto and several short prints. It wasn't until later that Scott texted me and told me that the Yu Darvish SP I got was, in fact, a super short print photo variation. Not bad. I think the odds of pulling one of those is 1:461 packs. Really not bad.
I also pulled this sweet Matt Adams on-card auto. I know two Cardinals fans who are going to be fighting each other to get this card. The first one to email me and pony up some cash, will be the victor!
In all, I had a really great day hanging out with a fellow blogger/collector along with his dad, who was awesome enough to bring along some of his own collection (which isn't baseball cards) for us to look at. It was really cool being able to sit around on the couch and talk about collecting, collecting regrets, auction sites, shows, etc. I think we all decided that this would become a regular thing, so I'm hoping we all can hang out really soon. Scott and his dad are awesome folks and I am so glad we got the date wrong on the card show. This was so much more fun! Go take a look at Scott's blog and give him some follows. he's a hell of a guy and deserves more attention for his blog!

Mail From Judson - 2013 Gypsy Queen Mark Reynolds Relic
I got a nice package in the mail the other day from fellow blogger, Judson (read his blog, HERE), which contained the above Mark Reynolds 2013 Gypsy Queen relic card. Judson knows how big an Oriole fan I am and even though Reynolds isn't with the team anymore, I am still happy to add this Reynolds to my collection.
I really need to come up with some nice Rangers to send Judson's way to pay him back for his generosity. I might have to dig through some boxes to find something good, but it can be done!
I feel kind of weird not posting a picture of a ball today. Considering that my last few weeks of posts have been about signed baseballs. I guess I'll just need to buy another!

Results From Andrew's Box Break
I took part in Andrew's box break recently when he broke a box of 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen. I bought 2 slots in the break for $12 each and picked the Orioles and Tigers. I was awarded the Rockies and Marlins as my random teams. I liked the stuff I got, even though I didn't get any hits. The above Dealing Aces Dylan Bundy is a really cool card.
The minis didn't scan all that well, sliding a little crooked on my scanner. I got this really cool Rick Ferrell with the St. Louis Browns. Since the Browns became the Orioles, I was awarded this card. Awesome!
Finally, I got this Ty Cobb that came in the 10-card mini box. I'm going to keep some of the Tigers and all of the Orioles. The Rockies and Marlins I got are definitely up for trade. I really enjoyed the box break with Andrew, so I hope he did as well and has some more in the future.

Thoughts on 2013 Gypsy Queen
I didn't get any mail today, so I figured I would do a small post on 2013 Gypsy Queen. I bought 2 packs from my LCS last week and I joined Andrew's box break also. In the 2 packs that I bought, I ended up with 3 Orioles: Brooks, Manny Machado and Eddie Murray.
The cards look great, as Gypsy Queen pretty much always does. I have been a fan for a while. There are a bunch of inserts this year, and my favorite has to be the 'Dealing Aces' set. Those cards look really cool.
I bought a box of Gypsy Queen last year. I doubt I will buy a box this year, but you never know.

2013 Gypsy Queen Adam Jones From Judson
I recently completed a trade with Judson from The Cardboard Habit when I sent him a 2011 Topps 60 Matt Harrison auto and he sent me this 2013 Gypsy Queen Adam Jones relic. I met Judson during Andrew's Gypsy Queen box break. He seems like a really cool guy and has a great blog.
I really like the black frame around the relic mini. Those and the Ginter relics are always sharp, in my opinion. I can't wait until I get my cards from Andrew's break, it appears that I got some nice stuff. I also hope to trade more with Judson in the future.
