TTM Success - Jim Boudreau

While going through boxes the other day, I found this 2006 Upper Deck Legendary Cuts card of Lou Boudreau.  I love the design, but Boudreau has been gone for some time now, so there no way I'd be able to get him to sign it.  I figured I'd try to get one of his kids to sign it; his daughter is married to Denny McLain.  I did some digging and found an address for his son, Jim.  I initially thought it was Boudreau's grandson, but Jim Boudreau corrected me.
Something really cool happened, though; Jim added his dad's auto to the TTM request.  He must have had a stash of his dad's signed cards somewhere.  That was really cool of him.
I also got a note back, explaining that my guess was wrong.  Still, I'm glad I gave it a shot and sent the card out.

I mailed to Boudreau on March 2 and got the card back on March 16, for a 14-day TAT.

Pickup From Michael - 2006 UD Legendary Cuts Pee Wee Reese Plate

My friend Michael has been raising money for whatever venture he is getting into these days.  I'm not sure what type of card or memorabilia is intriguing him at this moment, but I was able to benefit from one of his sales recently when I picked up this 2006 UD Legendary Cuts Pee Wee Reese.  He, as always, had a real good price on the card, and I wanted to help him out.

I think Michael has kind of abandoned his Reese PC, which, I don't blame him.  Not a lot of new stuff is being issued for Reese and a lot of his vintage stuff carries a premium since he was a Brooklyn Dodger.  Still, I figured I would take this card since he is a Hall of Famer, and it is a printing plate.  I might be able to flip it later on for something interesting.

Thanks for the quick and easy deal, Michael!

Instagram Trade With Cameron

I completed a trade with a guy named Cameron on Instagram when I sent him a bunch of relics and autos in exchange for the above 2011 Bowman Chrome refractor auto of Sonny Gray.  This is now my second Gray auto, but the fact that it is his "first Bowman card" and a refractor numbered 330/500 makes this a really awesome card.
Another part of the deal that I pushed for was this 2006 UD Legendary Cuts relic of Jim Palmer. This was actually what started our deal.  Cameron saw something he liked on my page and we went from there.  I think it was a Bowman Sterling auto that I traded to him.  We started discussing a larger deal which netted me the Gray auto.  It also landed me a new friend, as Cameron seems like a really genuine person whom I have talked to for a while since the trade.
A throw in that Cameron included as a thank you for the deal was this 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter Adam Jones relic.  I really appreciated the card and the fact that Cameron included it was really cool of him.

Thanks for the deal, Cameron!  I know we will do more in the future!

Instagram Trade With Ben - Awesome Relic Cards and More

I completed a trade with my friend, Ben, a few weeks ago when I sent him something that I can't remember (which is normal) for this awesome Brooks Robinson 2006 UD Legendary Cuts relic card.  I didn't have it, yet, so I was really happy to add it to my collection.

One of the products I miss the most from UD is Legendary Cuts.  I'd open some past boxes, but for that price, I'd be afraid of getting some redemptions that they will no longer honor.
As a bonus, Ben threw in this 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen black mini parallel that I didn't have yet. This is a really nice card as well.
Finally, another piece I asked for in the deal was this Dustin Ackley relic card numbered 46/50 from 2012 Topps.  I know someone who collects Ackley, so I plan on using this as trade bait.

Thanks for the deal, Ben!
