Another TTM Success From Jack McDowell

When I heard that (with a donation) Jack McDowell was sending signed CDs of his music following TTM requests, I dug out a couple cards and sent to him.  I had this freshly pack-pulled 1992 Triple Play that I sent along.  I got the pack out of a bargain box at the Winston-Salem card shop.
McDowell sent the above 1998 Pacific, 1993 O Pee Chee and 1992 Score.

I'd like to say that I enjoyed McDowell's music, but I don't have a working CD player at the moment. My laptop no longer had a CD drive, and the player I had at the office crapped out.  I use Spotify exclusively now and have had no need for a CD player.  I'll get around to listening to them at some point.  I don't want to buy a player and I don't have room to store one anyway.

I mailed to McDowell on June 25 and got the cards, along with two signed CDs on July 5 for a 10-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $10.00.

TTM Success - Rico Rossy

A couple early 90s cards came back signed TTM from Rico Rossy.  I had his cards pulled for quite some time, and finally got around to dropping them in the mail.  The above 1992 Topps Stadium Club turned out well.
This 1992 Score also looks nice.  I don't have many of these cards left in the collection. It was nice adding this one to the album.

Rossy (b. 1964) played in the majors from 1991 to 1993 and 1998 for the Braves, Royals and Mariners.  He had 67 hits, 4 home runs and a .211 batting average.

I mailed to Rossy on August 1 and got the cards back on January 13 for a 165-day TAT.

TTM Success - Henry Cotto

Henry Cotto is actually in the 1987 Topps set, but my good friend, Jackson, had already gotten him for me.  So, when I saw that I still had some cards leftover after all this time, I sent TTM to Cotto, as well.  I got this 1992 Score signed, but the autograph smudged.  Still, this is a nice set out of the Junk Wax Era, and has been added to my album.
I also got a 1993 Stadium Club signed, and it turned out much better than the 1992 Score.

Cotto (b. 1961) played in the majors from 1984 to 1993 for the Cubs, Yankees, Mariners and Marlins.  He had 569 hits, 44 home runs and a .261 batting average.

I mailed to Cotto on April 21 and got the cards back on August 5, for a 106-day TAT.

TTM Success - Mo Sanford

I got some junk wax era cards signed TTM recently from former pitcher, Mo Sanford.  The above 1992 Score turned out really nicely.  I used to have a lot of these cards, but thinned them out over the years.  Still, they have a nice design and look good when signed.
I also got cards from 1992 and 1993 Topps signed.  Sanford's signature isn't much to look at, but they're signed.

Sanford (b. 1966) played in the majors in 1991, 1993 and 1995 for the Reds, Rockies and Twins.  He had a record of 2-4 with 84 strike outs and a 4.81 ERA.

I mailed to Sanford on December 2 and got the cards back on February 1, for a 61-day TAT.

TTM Success - Pete Schourek

I sat on these Pete Schourek cards for a long time because I kept finding him in my card boxes and figured I would wait until I had plenty to choose from.  I did get a nice stack going, and used them to populate a few sets that might be a little under-represented in my albums.  This above 1996 Pinnacle Museum was the one card that I really wanted to get back.  It turned out great.
The 1992 Score Rising Star turned out really nice, as well.  It will be a colorful addition to the album, as I see that I ended up choosing mostly white bordered cards for this TTM request.  Maybe I should have thought that through a little more.  I did like the 1993 Donruss due to the Mets jersey, though.
I wanted a couple Topps cards, as usual, so I included the 1992 and 1993 on the bottom.  I also don't have very many Upper Deck represented in the albums, so I used this opportunity to get a 1992 and 1993 Upper Deck signed.  They usually aren't my first choice to get signed, but they look nice, I think.

Schourek (b. 1969) played in the majors from 1991 to 2001 for the Mets, Reds, Astros, Red Sox and Pirates.  He had a career record of 66-77 with 813 strike outs and an ERA of 4.59.  He had his best season in 1995 with the Reds, where he went 18-7 with a 3.22 ERA.  He finished second in the NL Cy Young Award voting that season, and also was 20th in the NL MVP voting.

I mailed to Schourek on May 9 and got the cards back on June 10, for a 32-day TAT.

Another Trade With Kalib

I completed another trade with my new friend Kalib over at "Cubs Cardboard" recently.  I sent him some random Cubs cards, including a couple vintage ones.  He recently posted some trade bait on his blog, so I had to ask for the above Tim Lincecum relic for my son, Chris, and the below Andrew McCutchen 2013 Topps Blue parallel for my own PC.
I think the blue and yellow on the McCutchen really pop off of the card as you may be able to see in the scan.  I think they go really well together.  I definitely need to get more parallels from 2013 Topps!
Finally, Kalib also included some random Orioles cards that he found in a few shoeboxes and one of which was the above 1992 Score No Hit Club featuring the combined no hitter that was thrown on July 13, 1991 (21 years ago!!!).  Bob Milacki, Mike Flanagan, Mark Williamson and Gregg Olson combined to no hit the A's that night.  I really like this card because it features Mike Flanagan.  Flanny is still sorely missed by all Orioles fans, since he took his own life in August of 2011.  To me, that was probably the darkest of days for any Oriole fan in recent memory and it still is tough to think about.  I always feel bad for him and his family whenever I see his cards.  I plan on creating a PC of him sometime soon.

So, thanks again for the trade, Kalib!  I enjoy kalib's blog and I, again, recommend you all to follow it!
