I started with one card, then bumped it up to four after a visit to Sportlots and ended up with a nice TTM success from Steve Blass. I wanted a few more older cards to go along with the one 1973 Topps that I had, and picked this 1974 up (too bad it is miscut).
I also picked up a 1965 and 1970 to go with the '73. They all turned out really well.
Blass (b. 1942) played in the majors in 1964 and from 1966 to 1974 for the Pirates. He had a record of 103-76 with 896 strike outs and a 3.63 ERA. He finished second in the 1972 NL Cy Young voting (to Steve Carlton) and was an All Star that same season. That year, he finished 18th in the NL MVP voting. He won the World Series with the Pirates in 1971. Blass appeared on the 1980 Hall of Fame ballot and received 0.5% of the vote.
I mailed to Blass on January 29 and got the cards back on February 14, for a 16-day TAT.
