One of the things I have discussed many times when looking for cards to send TTM was how the uniforms looked on the older cards. The satin jacket on the above 1977 Topps card of Gene Pentz is a nice gem that reflects back on those times. I really liked this card, and he spiced it up a bit with an odd-colored marker. I think it is a brown Sharpie, but it fits right in with the color of the satin jacket (and the stadium seats behind Pentz).
This one also looks cool, with the old orange Astros hat.
Pentz (b. 1953) played in the majors from 1975 to 1978 for the Tigers and Astros. He had a record of 8-9 with 116 strike outs and a 3.63 ERA.
I mailed to Pentz on January 14 and got the cards back on February 1, for an 18-day TAT.
