TTM Success - Mario Soto

Private signings have really helped my 1987 Topps set.  I have gotten quite a few guys lately via private signings who I don't think I would have been able to get otherwise.  I obviously prefer IP, but sometimes you just have to pay a price to get the guys you need.  Mario Soto was the next player I added to my set via a private signing on SCN.

Soto (b. 1956) played in the majors from 1977 to 1988 for the Reds.  He had a record of 100-92 with 1,449 strike outs and a 3.47 ERA.  He was a three-time All Star (1982, 1983 and 1984).  His best Cy Young Award finish was 2nd, in 1983; he finished 14th in the NL MVP voting that same season.

I mailed to the signing on December 18 and got the card back on March 19, for a 91-day TAT.  I paid a fee of $15.00.
