1955 Topps #200 - Jack Jensen

Jack Jensen (b. 1927 - d. 1982) played in the majors from 1950-1959 and 1961 for the Yankees, Senators and Red Sox. He retired with 1,463 hits, 199 home runs and a .279 batting average. He was voted the MVP of the AL in 1958 after putting up 157 hits, 35 home runs, 122 RBI and a .279 batting average. He retired at an early age as baseball expanded westward due to an intense fear of flying and also because he did not like being separated from his family. You have to respect that, for sure.

(DECEASED 105)
