1955 Topps #125 - Ken Boyer


Ken Boyer (b. 1931 - d. 1982) played in the majors from 1955 to 1969 for the Cardinals, Mets, White Sox and Dodgers. He also managed the Cardinals from 1978 to 1980. He was a member of the World Champion Cardinals in 1964 (the season he won the NL MVP award) and had his number retired by the Cards in 1984. He is the only non-Hall of Famer who has their number retired by the Cardinals. He retired with 2,143 hits, 282 home runs and a .287 batting average.
